2026 Capricorn Full Moon: Foundations Before Shift

We are at the brink of massive mobilization and change. Before we head into that, the Capricorn Full Moon delivers a status report on our foundations, institutions and goals.

How supportive are they? How sustainable are they? Most importantly, how do they make us feel? Have they been worth the effort?

The timing of these questions is no coincidence. It’s an invitation – a mandate, to be honest – to pay close attention to the state of the metaphoric ground beneath your feet, now, before attention and energy fly off into the new.

The Full Moon’s questions ripple with urgency. The sky is already teeing up July’s monumental, reality-altering link-up of the outer planets, when trines, sextiles and one overseeing opposition will connect Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.

The advent to that configuration is built into this Full Moon, in a couple of noteworthy ways.

First, this Moon is pressuring a key player, Neptune, as well as the ruler of the Moon’s sign, Saturn. If the Sun and the Moon weren’t bearing down on them both, this pair would be a bit far apart to act as a conjunction, but effectively they are. The Sun and Moon are each squaring Neptune and Saturn, creating the dynamic, something’s gotta give configuration of a t-square.

The impact is forcing an activation or flowering of the potential of their actual conjunction, which occurred in late February and pulled imagination and inspiration into physical form, fused with raw life force and creativity. This is the realm of spiritual warrioring and of bold, pioneering manifestation.

So what have you done with that impulse? Feelings and reason are swapping their usual places in this examination. The Capricorn Full Moon always switches parenting modes as it lights them up (inside you and with people in your life), with the daddy / providing end holding down the emotional side and the mommy / nurturing end on the side of reason or intellect.

Run it through your heart or through your intellect and the inquiry leads to the same place: Where does this call to action – this call to a utterly new way of being – fit into your goals? Your foundations? Is it supporting you? Is it nurturing you? Flipping the inquiry: are your goals and foundations nurturing this calling? To what extent have you brought this calling into reality?

At least think about it. At least talk about it. At least set ideas into motion. That’s the imperative of the second harbinger of July’s configuration, Mars in Gemini approaching a conjunction with Uranus. That meeting, around the Fourth of July, will activate not just radical, unpredictable change, awakening and liberation, but also energize Neptune and Pluto as well.

Reverberations are already coming off the impending conjunction, which may free up your thinking as you contemplate and experience the Full Moon’s status report. Something new is definitely in the works, which argues for jettisoning the old and worn. Emphasizing that, Mars is itself in the pressurized middle ground between the nodes (aka the focus of a t-square), with the tension between what we’re leaving behind and what we’re moving toward blowing opening multiple new possibilities.

The final player in July’s line-up is not yet in place, but looming large: expansive, super-sizing Jupiter, in the very last minutes of Cancer, the sign opposite this Moon’s. He’s been in the sign since June 2025, and some of this Full Moon’s drama may well tie a cartoonishly large ribbon around what his time in the sign has cultivated.

So welcome the status report. Run it through your heart and your brain. Project it into the future. And make bold, radical, inspired changes, lovingly.
