All the prioritizing and planning and work you’ve been doing this year is seeding powerful, powerful beginnings.

They’re rolling out under this year’s Capricorn New Moon, with action plans and performance benchmarks, powered by drive and determination to bring ideas into being.

We’re setting practical, long term goals and projects, affecting foundations and institutions that support our lives. Mind and matter are fused as one; form really will follow thought, with Mercury and Mars on board with the Moon, facilitating turning words and talk into action.

You’ve been working on this already, consciously or not. Where has your attention been so far this year? How have you been tending to your business? No matter what has been going on in your world, some part of you has gone to your own affairs – thinking about them, structuring them, making plans, taking some small steps toward making them real.

And that’s what’s coming into the New Moon’s cauldron of creativity. Here one of two things will happen. And possibly both.

Capricorn may prefer the tried and true, but what we’re unleashing doesn’t follow any previous game plan. This Moon is a response to radical changes and ongoing instability, in finances, in creature comforts, in the physical experience of life. They are organically flowing into the New Moon starts and growth, coming off the trine from Uranus, agent of unpredictable, awakening change.

As a result, much of this New Moon’s growth will reflect current situations, rather than what has been in the past. Which means that your intentions and goals are likely veering from what you would have set even last year.

And some of this New Moon’s growth will take wild detours, even from that, and maybe after they’re set in motion. Uranus is zapping the Moon with unpredictability, volatility and erratic genius. It may be like planting carrots and them mutating into carrots with zinnia tops. Or unexpected information drops in that prompts changing and rearranging (as Mercury closes in on trining Uranus). Or you suddenly see a radically different way of going about things (as Mars completes his trine to Uranus).

The New Moon isn’t all business; it isn’t all calculating and bottom-line focused. The ground you’re cultivating has some built-in softening. The Moon, Mercury and Mars are sextiling Saturn and Neptune in Pisces – Neptune for the last time in some 150 years. The pair offers the possibility of imbuing your goals with higher meaning, compassion and incredible inspiration.

Because Pisces is all-encompassing, there are other possibilities as well. Maybe the pair is inviting in some magical thinking about what you’re capable of achieving. Maybe it’s blinding you to “realities,” and maybe you don’t care. And maybe what you’re setting off now reflects an “older, but wiser” perspective, taking into account the dissolution, dissipation or other fate of your dreams during Saturn’s time in Pisces (since March 2023) and Neptune’s transit through the waters he rules (since April 2011).

Bottom line – the land of Capricorn – this is a potent time of creation. This New Moon is the fourth of six at 28 degrees of their sign. (The seventh, in Aries, is nearby at 27). Since October, the sky has seeded profound fresh starts in relationships, agreements and social justice (Libra), shared resources, intimacy, secrets and crimes (Scorpio) and outlooks on reality (Sagittarius). Now we set new foundations, and then new collectives (Aquarius) and interconnectedness (Pisces).

It’s an unparalleled opportunity. Get your base in order. Do it now. You’ll be glad of that soon.
