Message from Spirit: Is 8 Hours of Sleep Every Night Necessary?

One of our favorite books is Seth Speaks, channeled by Jane Roberts in 1972.

One of the chapters focuses on sleep, dreams, and consciousness. Seth explains that several short periods of sleep are far more beneficial to the body and mind than one long period.

He goes into detail about the relationship among—and the effects of this relationship on—the body, consciousness, illness, food patterns, and sleep patterns.

This can be quite shocking or surprising to someone who has been conditioned to believe they should sleep eight or nine hours straight.

Spirit

Many of you, no matter what country or culture you grew up in, were taught there were only limited “right” ways to nourish your health, your physical and spiritual well-being.

One of the most widespread of these was the idea you must get a minimum of 8 hours of sleep every night. Any less than that would damage your physical and mental well-being.

Much of this (mis)information comes from your limited, often wrong, ideas of what is good or bad for your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

This is often through no fault of your own. Your society is often blind to the powers and wisdom you all possess as powerful and wise spiritual beings temporarily occupying physical bodies.

All of you, no matter what you believe (or were taught to believe), possess far greater wisdom and power than most of you have ever dreamed of.

We remind you again today, as we have often in the past, you are God, Goddess temporarily occupying human bodies.

You, that wiser, higher being of power and wonder you all are, knew exactly what you were doing when you chose to take on these physical bodies you occupy for a time.

Do you know your reason for choosing to become physical for a short time (no matter how many or few years you remain physical)? There is one reason only: Because you are powerful and playful beings of light and love.

Life is not serious. It’s supposed to be fun, to be joyful, to be joy-filled. You, as the higher, wiser being of love and light you all are, came here (to earth) to play, to have fun, to bask in the power and love you all are.
