Either way, it’s the same thing, but God is not and cannot be a punishing God. Punishment is part of the illusion you invented, and God gives you a way of looking upon everyone with no thought of punishment.

When you experience yourself making your own decisions, that’s what you can turn away from for a moment. When you feel tension or stress, this is your experience of you making decisions for a separate self. There is one who can make all decisions for you on your behalf, and it is this toward which you turn today. Setting down the fiction that you know anything about anything, you receive clear direction.

The trick of illusion is the offering of a belief that there is an enemy to defend against. Illusion reinforces the idea of struggle being necessary. Deep in the here and now, prior to and beyond all illusion, is what corrects illusion. We invite you into the source of the correction. Learn to rest here, and all the burden of judgment is gone.

The ego is always dedicated to death. It is focused upon damage to the kingdom it built. It is also focused upon meaningless enhancements to the kingdom it built, but always it’s both–this back and forth. Ego tells you that the positive side of its illusion is stability, and that you should strain toward reaching and staying in ego’s positive state, resisting its illusion of death. It tells you to strain away from one and avoid the other. One is the other. Ego’s kingdom was built for death, but ego’s kingdom can pass away. You cannot pass away, but ego’s kingdom can.

When you feel your own dedication to ego thought, you see the problem clearly. Any feeling of stress is dedication to seeing ego’s kingdom. Once you realize that there is another alternative, your turn toward it, like a plant seeking nourishment from the sun. Bask in the rays of what is here for you, and stress just becomes a reminder to acknowledge what is here for everyone, what is corrective, what takes away all signs of pain.

There is one thing toward which to turn, and you are it as much as we are. Turn toward what connects us forever, and all is well.
