A Little of This and A Little of That

A Little of This and A Little of That

A Little of This and A Little of That

An obliging tree
fallen long ago.

A discarded board,
once a leafing, breathing tree,
placed blithely
upon it.

An object lesson
waiting to be
comprehended
along the
wooded
way

this
interplay
with that.

Contrasting one with the other,
these “sides" in no way
express opposition,
not seen in their
true light.

For what they draw
the lucid eye to is the
spectrum they hold
betwixt them—

the middle way
as fulcrum.

The sacred
betweenness
of their bond.

Again and again
what they seek
to make plain
is unity.

Fusion.

Force that knows
itself as one, indivisible,
as energy, which can
neither be created
nor destroyed.

For without one,
"the other" cannot
exist—not
entirely.

There is only inclusion in
the space between here
and there, a melding
fluence, wherein
influences meet,
conjoin one
another.

Reception
and transmission,
filling and emptying,
holding and
letting go.

It is symmetry.
It is coherence.
It is harmony.
It is love.

It is active,
even when
passive.

For even at
rest, it moves
mightily.

Breath in,
breath
out.

And when it stirs
waters, air, fires,
vacuums—
as the force
that is all,

when it comes
to life, it
dances.

Systolic and diastolic
beats keeping time
a fluid dynamic.

Day becoming night
as mother earth turns
in tune with her cosmic
nature, ever r/evolving,
ever cycling and re-
cycling.

It is alchemy.
Binding all
that stirs with
all that stirs.

Here is peace,
says the seesaw.

Here is dimension,
scope, participation
and vasting range—
above, below, left and
right, up and down,
pressing and
yielding.

Here is play.

Integration.
Male finding female,
north meeting south,
acid sustaining
alkaline,

negative charging,
electrifying positive.

And vice versa.
Ever vice versa.

Unity is the
interstitial weave
in the fabric of
existence.

We've mistaken
duality where all
there has ever been
is manifold collaboration,
amalgamation,
continuity.

Coalescence.

Comprehension
of this and that
is all consciousness
ever is, ever
will be.

See, says the saw,
in its demure, unobtrusive
way, balance isn’t
a solid state,
a stasis.

It is ever responding,
adjusting, accommodating
the pull with the push,
the rise with the fall,
ever gentling the
center point
round which
all takes form
and gives it
expression.

Endlessly
beautiful
expression.

See?

"Nature is ever at work building and pulling down, creating and destroying, keeping everything whirling and flowing, allowing no rest but in rhythmical motion, chasing everything in endless song out of one beautiful form into another.” —John Muir

Eve Moore: Once a professional writer of advertising, I saw the light & it has shown me words of a different nature. And so I take them down & offer them up. And all is well.

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”
—Jimi Hendrix
