This Two Shall Pass

This Two Shall Pass

This Two Shall Pass

Pardon the pun,
but our experience
of duality is still quite
middle ages:

a duel.

To the death.

Pistols at sunrise!

How does it go,
ne’er the twain shall meet
in our perception
of equal and
opposite?

Interaction
that creates
forces of
motion.

Instead, we continue
to brand duality as
conflict. Power
struggle.

Mano a mano
opposition.

Meanwhile,
the poles
are a pair.

A beautiful, attuned
pair that balance
this place oft
referred to
as a rock.

Oh, what a rock!

Alive and
aware.

Oriented round
distal poles whose
dynamic tension creates
a field of attraction, protection,
this pair dances while we
point and shoot.

If we would let go
of the narrative of
of antagonism, we
would see the
connection.

See a relationship
that is dynamic,
fluid, electric
and magnetic.

Responsive
to the churn
in the belly
of earth.

See opposites
that are not in
opposition.

They are showing
us harmony in
difference.

Two forces
coming together,
in like, in love, in a
pas de deux of singular
motion joined,
entwined.

Entrained.

United in flow,
in synchronized
continuity.

Like swans,
seahorses,
bald eagles,
and red foxes,
they are a
bonded
pair.

Showing us
that instead of
endless dueling,
we might meet
one another and
make magic
of this life.

The barred owls,
mates for life,
are mating.

I hear them now
in the wee hours
calling to one another
through the starlit
dark of the
forest.

Magic.

On this day
of so many
twos, might
we, too,
make
magic

together?
