Two, Too

Two, Too

Since sipping that first

gulp of air, I’ve always

been drawn

to water.

Born under an aquarian sun,

libra moon conjunct pluto

at 13 degrees with cancer

rising/north node in the 12th,

and Jupiter conjuncting these

heavenly bodies on my midheaven,

a high-water mark set the

native course of this life.

To bring yin into balance,

harmony, sacred union

with yang, seems written

in these stars.

And numbers: an Imbolc issue,

cross quarter berth betwixt the darkest day

and first light of spring: 2/2 in a year

that equaled 20, and leapt —

the exception to the rule, keeping

man’s years in alignment with

Gaia's revolutions

round her sun.

Add to this a maternal surname

meaning placid, and a paternal

lineage of the clan of more,

and it seems

peace was leavened

into rising to this journey

from Piscean gloam

to Aquarian dawn.

Fairness, equanimity, humanity

guiding its light, setting its sight

to the middle ways of duality, to live

this change we wish to be,

to see

filling all our cups,

our grails, with living, breathing

waters—half full.

On this day,

in this 20/20 year of leaps,

shadow seen, faced, not feared,

may we find each other,

ourselves, clay vessels

of infinite kind, manifold color,

all bearing the same

crystalline water

fresh air

golden light

that stirs

worlds.

It is my birthday wish for us all. ❤️
