White Rabbit

White Rabbit

White Rabbit

Quite unlike the dread
bête noir, that black beast
so oft occupying the dark
gulp of the menacing
closet pulled shut
by the glue of
our most
averse
fear:

do not
trespass,
do not
breach
the safe
rectangle
of the bed,
the banks of the
river that cannot
help but flow,
cannot stop
to tell us
why.

The white rabbit
beckons us
yond,
should
we thither,
to a place
other.

A lighting where
sense can’t make
sense the way
it traditionally,
conditionally,
has.

A field where
we are free to
taste an expanse
of sentient
wander.

This day out of time,
drawing the willing to
a space that holds,
births, dimensions

outside the linear
construct ticking,
tocking its
measured
days away,
to finger paint
rapturously
what becks,
beholds:

now.

where all
actually
abides

ever
patient
for our
arrival

to nowhere
exactly, other
than where
precisely.

There is no
packing necessary
for this journey, this
ad infinitum venture,
no planning, no swill
or magic mushroom,
no size requirement,
no map nor ticket
to purchase
this trip.

It awaits
merely our
noticing the
flash of white,
jumping in,
down, here —
where the
rabbit
goes.

“There is no use trying,” said Alice;
“one can’t believe impossible things.”
“I dare say you haven’t had much practice,”
said the Queen. “When I was your age, I always
did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes
I’ve believed as many as six impossible
things before breakfast.” —Lewis Carroll

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”
