5 Habits of Thoughtful Gift Givers

5 Habits of Thoughtful Gift Givers

You have probably bought your fair share of presents during your lifetime. Some were thoughtful, other fun, or romantic. Either way, we sometimes miss the inspiration and don't know where to turn. And since buying a gift is very important to some of us, and we want to give something meaningful and just right, here are some helpful guidelines on how to choose.

Make every gift personalized

Make every gift personalized

Something that people appreciate the most when receiving presents is when it’s personalized. One of the ways to do that is to engrave their names, important dates, or a special quote on the present. In most cases, people do this on jewelry, especially watches, but you can be more creative and do it on sneakers, robes, hats, and many other items. The point here is to be creative, and the ideas will come. Maybe retro ideas like an engraved pocket watch or golf clubs and balls. Another interesting idea is to make a gentleman’s gift box with underwear, a bottle of their favorite drink or cigarette box if they smoke. Add a bow tie for example or some interesting car key chain, and we are sure they are gonna love it.

Give them something THEY will like

Give them something THEY will like

Remember when you were a kid, and you would buy presents that you liked, regardless of whom you are bringing the gift to? Well, your adult life is a time to stop doing it. Don’t think and look for gifts from your perspective, rather try to remember what they like. You can use their favorite movie, book, their hobbies, passions, or desires. Some of the thoughtful ideas are first editions of books, signed books, tickets to see their favorite movie with a special atmosphere created, or instruments. After all, if you still can’t manage it, simply ask directly or try to find out what they need or want.

Make your gifts practical

Make your gifts practical

When you are a kid, all the gifts you want are toys or candy. However, when you grow older, you appreciate practicality, which is why you should stick to it too. If your friend, boyfriend, brother or anyone needs dishes, pillows, or something else for their home, get them that. Technology is also an option where you can be helpful and get power banks, phone cases, or headphones. Practical gifts also include wardrobe or any other accessories, for example. If you want your gift to be a bit trendier, men’s bags are a unique, practical, and thoughtful gift. It is something that is going to last and that they can wear always. If you are afraid to buy clothes and you don’t think you will get the size right, this is a great substitute. Other options can be hats, caps, makeup bags, ties, scarves, or even interesting socks.

But also add a little soul to it

But also add a little soul to it

If you don't like giving only practical gifts, there are plenty of ways to be creative and add a meaningful little something to the gift. The simplest, yet the most effective and beautiful one is a frame with a picture of you two in there. You can also create a slide of your favorite memories together, or even make a short movie of sorts. Or, you can buy a journal or photo album where they will keep all your photos, old movie or concert tickets, and keep that as a memory.

Think outside the box

Think outside the box

Doesn’t matter the occasion, we are always looking for concrete gifts to buy. However, an interesting and thoughtful idea is to get them gift certificates. It can be a spa treatment, massage, facial, or haircut. You can book this in some of the best salons and give them a pleasant experience. If you want to enjoy something together, a weekend getaway, concert tickets, or tickets to go see a play are a great option. All you need is a cute card to give them the certificate in, and special dedication or note you can write. Gifts like this are thoughtful because they will make them feel good, and happy, and another plus is that it’s pretty simple for you to get.

You shouldn’t buy gifts just to get them. There are many ways to figure out what the person likes or wants and not go through so much trouble to get it. These are just some of the suggestions on how to be a thoughtful gift-giver, and some gift examples everyone will love. If nothing else, you can find inspiration or idea for your next gift here.
