Mist of New Beginnings

The fog moved in last night after dusk and it’s taken up residence here for the foreseeable future.
It seems fitting to spend the day in a gossamer cage given my need for rest and stillness. 2024 has been a tough year and I’m ready to turn the page.
Death has been my teacher for the last twelve months, and the most profound lesson I've learned is that our mortality is a calling card for life. Wake up!, death says. Pay attention to the people you love, the moment in front of you, and how you show up in the world. Pledge allegiance to the only thing that transcends loss – love.
As I stare out the window and contemplate what to write, I’ve decided to take the day off to be in the foggy mist of endings. I like this time of year. It fuels my melancholic nature in a way that feels poignant and bittersweet. I have no doubt that 2025 will offer me exactly what I need to become more awake and alive. Fortunately, I’m ahead of the game.
So, with that, I wish you a Happy New Year and hope you, too, will enjoy the ending before the beginning.
Love,
Cheryl
