See Everyone as God's Child: A Call to Compassion

Hello to all my beautiful friends

I am praying for you all, always.

Today I wanted to send you all a little message and remind you to always have your eyes and hearts wide open when you see a stranger in need of help.

Sometimes when we pass a beggar on the street, or a drug addict or alcoholic, we might look at them in horror. This is because we have our eyes and hearts closed. We must ask God to forgive us for seeing a human being in this way, and we must pray that God will change our hearts to look on the stranger differently, to see them as a person with a soul—that spark of light of God within us all.

We are all God's children.

Each and every one of us needs to pray for the stranger. When you are praying for the stranger, you are praying for the whole world, and it is not for you to know who God decides your prayer is for. Your prayer could be the very thing that saves that person's life.

No more judging each other. We must have love and compassion in our hearts for all people, everywhere.

Prayer to Help A Stranger

God, please help me to help a stranger,
As often as I can.
Sometimes when I see a stranger,
I look on them in disgust.
I ask you to forgive me for that, God.
My eyes have been closed and I don't see them as a person,
An ordinary person just like me.
God, help me open my eyes and my heart,
To reach out and help a stranger.
Just like you would have long ago, when you were here on earth.

Amen.
