The new moon is an astrological occurrence that happens once every month.

During the cycle of the new moon, we use this powerful time to add force to what we desire in our lives. Through the brilliance of astrologer, Jan Spiller, and her book, New Moon Astrology: Using New Moon Power Days to Change and Revitalize Your Life, I have had many wishes come true in my life. While using the power of the New Moon and Jan's suggestions for New Moon intentions, I have manifested new relationships, new clients, a $1500 mountain bike, and a check for $12,000, just to name a few things. There are no guarantees in life, but you may have fun trying the power of the New Moon in your life.

The "rules" are simple. Follow these guidelines for ultimate success:

1. Your intentions must be handwritten on paper.
2. For each New Moon Power Day, you are allowed a maximum of 10 wishes. (Of course, you can always make less than 10 wishes.)
3. The most potent time for wishing is the first 8 hours AFTER the exact time of the New Moon but within the first 48 hours will work.
4. Avoid making wishes BEFORE the exact time or you can sabotage your wishes.

In Jan's book, New Moon Astrology, she doesn't believe you should get too caught up in the wording of your intentions and suggests you write something like this:

"I want to easily find myself joyously responding to _______'s needs in a way that does not discount my own needs."

I, on the other hand, believe that words have great power, and I don't wish to spend my time "wanting." I also believe that in the new energies in the world, it is important to word your intentions as if they are here now. So, here is my suggestion for the same intention:

"I easily find myself joyously responding to ________'s needs in a way that does not discount my own needs."

Another example:

Jan's "I want to easily find myself with the right ideas resulting in my making money in a happy way."

Mine "I easily find myself with the right ideas resulting in my making money in a happy way."

It may seem like a small change in wording, but it changes it from the realm of "wanting" to the realm of "being/having" which is quite significant, I believe.
