Horoscopes: May 6th Thru The 13th

Horoscopes: May 6th Thru The 13th

Check your Sun sign or Rising sign to see where Mercury Retrograde or the Jupiter ingress will most likely impact you:

Aries

The big story for Aries this week is Jupiter entering your sign on May 10th. This will especially impact those Aries people born in the first 10º of the sign, or were born between March 20th and the 31st, as Jupiter will station retrograde at 8º43’ on July 28th. However, all Aries people are bound to resonate with the boost of energy and activity that Jupiter entering your sign can bring. Jupiter represents our Big Vision and Hopes for the Future. So when Jupiter enters your sign like this it is ushering in a whole new 12 year cycle of growth and understanding. In some way you are being shown who you are, and what your potential is. Jupiter is our pathfinder and guide, filling us with a sense of optimism and enthusiasm for something bigger and better than we had before. Take your dreams seriously, but also temper them with wisdom and common sense, so that you are clear about what you are asking for.

Mercury also stations retrograde in Gemini this week. Our perspectives can shift when this planet enters its retrograde phase… we reflect on our beliefs, those causes and ideals that we are willing to stand for. And we reflect on why these are so important to us. You are wanting a road map and a plan, but retrograde journey is more about exploring the different routes to get you there. Try on different ideas for size, but don’t yet commit. Mercury can be a bit of a trickster, and often what seems like a great idea when Mercury is retrograde, will be seen in another light when it is direct again in June. In the mean time, find your muse and your inspiration, and you will be halfway there.

Taurus

As Mercury stations on May 10th for its 3 week retrograde phase, it will be asking you to re-prioritize those things that you most value in your life. Part of this story will begin when Mercury returns to Taurus on the 22nd. That will allow you to reacquaint yourself with yourself, so that you know what is right for you, and what your true priorities are. And what you would really want to invest your valuable time, money and resources on.

On the same day that Mercury stations retrograde, the planet Jupiter enters the sign of Aries, a sign that for Taurus can be deeply and uniquely inspiring. The wisdom that he will be imparting to you over the year ahead can be extremely important for your self-esteem and well-being. Jupiter is bringing things to the surface that had been tucked away or forgotten about. As they come to light they can connect you to your inner potential. In this way Jupiter can literally free you of your own self-limiting beliefs, regrets or old paradigms that are no longer relevant for who you are now, and what you are becoming. By doing this inner work, in some remarkable way, you will find healing, and the freedom to find your true self once again.

Gemini

Now that you have achieved some of your goals, Jupiter comes along and asks you to consider what some of your next steps might be. For Gemini, Jupiter in Aries is about further cultivating what you have already begun. Whether that means expanding your influence into the outer world, or reaching a larger audience with what you do and what you have to say, Jupiter is daring you to have the confidence to grow. Having Jupiter in Aries for the next year will allow you to get more in touch with your aspirations, and may even see a cherished wish become a closer reality.

And as Mercury stations retrograde in your sign at the same time that Jupiter changes signs, it will allow you to reacquaint yourself with yourself and what some of those cherished dreams and/or wishes might actually be. We can lose touch with these through the excitement and hubbub of our daily lives. But when Mercury is in its retrograde phase it allows us to further reflect on the past, and to process all the experiences that have led you to this place in time. It is putting the emphasis on you, your perspective, your opinions, beliefs and interests. Use the 3 weeks that Mercury will be retrograde to get yourself back on track with those people, places and things that will restore your sense of humor and allow you to be your own best version of yourself.

Cancer

Now that Jupiter is entering Aries this week it is asking Cancer to look at the bigger picture of their lives. When Jupiter is in Aries it can bring Cancer opportunities for growth and advancement, and maybe even some recognition. Jupiter looms large in Aries, and brings the confidence to pursue initiatives and goals that you might not have necessarily had the courage to pursue. Jupiter wants you to think in terms of growth and improvement. And to go forth with greater confidence. It could be that at some point over the year ahead, that your fortune could be well nigh due.

In the mean time, even as Jupiter is barreling into Aries ready to take on all challengers, Mercury is stationing for its retrograde phase. This can bring the usual bumps and diversions that are common with these phases. But it does also allow you to remember and recall all those dreams and aspirations that had previously been put on the back burner, but are now being asked to be revisited. Perhaps some vision for the future that you once had, and then forgot about. Or a project that you had to put aside for other things. In some way you are being asked to connect with something that can serve as something of a lodestar and inspiration over the next 3 weeks. And by the time Mercury is direct again in June, you can then explore the steps you might want to take in order to make this inspiration a closer reality.

Leo

Mercury is stationing for its retrograde phase this coming week, and as it does so, it is trying to get you to connect with, and be inspired by, some sort of big vision for the future. You probably won’t be able to hammer out the details until Mercury stations direct again in June, but it is an opportunity to explore the possibilities that are available to you. This can include reevaluating your previous hopes and wishes. What may have been appropriate for who you were at an earlier point of your live, may no longer be serving the person you are now, or are hoping to become. It is time to input new data. But keep an open mind as you do so. Jupiter is just entering your fellow fire sign Aries this week, and as it does so it will be trying to open you up to all sorts of new ideas and possibilities.

Jupiter just entering Aries will first benefit those Leos in the early degrees of the sign, but all Leos will be inspired by the surge of optimism that Jupiter can bring when it is in Aries. When Jupiter is in Aries, Leo could find themselves anxious to learn more about a certain subject, explore the world at large, or expand their horizons. As a result of what you learn or discover over the year ahead, you could even see your whole perspective shifting so that you will never quite see things the same way again. And once that fire is kindled your awareness is capable of growing to such an extent that there will not longer be any room for self-limiting thoughts or ideas.

Virgo

Now that Jupiter is entering Aries this week, and will be here for most of the next year ahead, Virgo will be poised to benefit from Jupiter’s generosity and largesse. You never know what could fall in your lap when Jupiter is in this sign. Your credit increases, you pay down your debt, your partner gets a raise and starts contributing more. Often these are financial benefits, but any big changes that occur when Jupiter is in Aries could ultimately be for the best, even if they may not appear to be so at first. Another benefit Jupiter in Aries can bring to Virgo can be almost illuminating. Things that you were not necessarily aware of previously can come to light, which can have all sorts of cascading ramifications. Be prepared to be amazed over the year ahead.

In the mean time, your ruling planet Mercury is slowing for its retrograde phase which begins on Tuesday, and will extend through June 3rd. Beyond the usual inconveniences, delays and distractions that these periods can bring, it also allows you the opportunity to step back and reassess all that you have accomplished up until now. Exploring the past and making sense of it, can help you to make better plans and choices for the future. The retrograde periods are not generally the best time to start something new or go in a new direction, for you are bound to change your mind later on. But it can be a good time to explore your potential and possibilities.

Libra

Jupiter enters Aries this week which can also help to improve the prospects for Libra. In the year that Jupiter will be in this sign, Libra will find themselves making positive connections that could help them to fulfill their prospects. These new connections are bound to be mutually rewarding, opening you up to all sorts of possibilities that you had not previously been aware of. These are the times in our lives when the right people seem to come along, who inspire us to better things, and give us hope for greater possibilities. Because Jupiter in Aries helps to facilitate positive connections with others, this is a good time to get advice from professionals, consult the experts and ask for help as it is needed.

Meanwhile, Mercury also stations retrograde in Gemini this week. Our perspectives usually shift any way when this planet enters its retrograde phase, and while in Gemini we are being asked to step back and process all that we had previously believed to be true about ourselves and the world we live in. When Mercury is retrograde it is giving you permission to let go of any self-limiting beliefs that are no longer appropriate for who you are now, and what you have come to realize is true. In order to keep on evolving and growing we have to go through these periodic times of reevaluation, casting out the old in order to make room for new and better ideas.

Scorpio

Now that Jupiter is entering Aries it can help to improve your daily life and activities in ways that you might not have thought possible. This may be as simple as freeing up your schedule so that you will have more time to do the things that you really enjoy doing. Or it could improve your work environment to such a degree that what you do just feels that much more fulfilling and rewarding. Jupiter is also our benevolent healer, consultant and guide. And while he is in Aries he aims to inspire you to find the best healers and healing methods, diets, or routines that will improve your health and general well-being. Know also that Jupiter can make things busier, hopefully doing what you want to do, rather than what you have to do.

Meanwhile Mercury is also stationing for its retrograde phase which will last until June 3rd. Aside from the usual distractions and misadventures that the retrograde phases can bring, this can also be an opportunity for you to connect with your plans and hopes for the future. Mercury helps us to reassess what is or is not working in our lives, culling out what is no longer necessary, saying no where we need to, to make room for the things that will support our health and our well-being. Over the next few weeks, sit with yourself and think: What would a really good day look like for me? What do I see myself doing? And how does it make you feel? The first step is to be inspired. The next step after that will be figuring out ways to make that a closer reality.

Sagittarius

Now that your ruling planet Jupiter is entering Aries, you could feel yourself inspired and energized to take on greater challenges, and push yourself towards greater achievements. Perhaps even beyond your previous expectations. Whether that means to enter that race, or focus on achieving a personal best, Jupiter in Aries aims to increase your enthusiasm and your over all vitality. It also just wants you to go out and do your own thing. Maybe show off a little, have some fun. Find your own little spotlight in which to shine and allow yourself to be inspired, while inspiring others at the same time.

Meanwhile Mercury is stationing retrograde in the sign of Gemini. This could confound the prevailing confusion, and increase the general trend towards miscommunications, delays and distractions. Make sure that you are hearing clearly what others are telling you, and also make sure that you are being heard. Otherwise you could find yourself having to renegotiate agreements later on, or have to re-do the whole thing. It can sometimes feel like we are not being heard at all when Mercury is retrograde, so you may even wonder why you are even bothering. What this period is good for is listening. You can learn a great deal about people when you pay attention to what they are actually saying.

Capricorn

Jupiter entering Aries can bring all sorts of improvements in your home and personal life over the year ahead. People improve their relationships with family members, move to a bigger or better home, or aim to improve the one you are already living in. Ultimately this is about improving your personal security by putting down roots, or supporting the roots you already have. One of the ways that that is achieved is by gathering your tribe about you, or by cultivating a stronger sense of community. The sort of community that will bring you emotional support and a sense of belonging for years to come.

And as Mercury stations for its retrograde phase this week, you will be wanting to reassess some of your daily routines. That can include what you do to maintain your health and well-being, following up on a health issue, or reexamining your diet. But it can also be about looking for better ways to manage your time and use it more efficiently, whether that be at home or in the work place. One of the difficulties with Mercury retrograde in Gemini can be the constant distractions and detours that can get in the way. These can also show us how we need to better organize our work spaces, and/or what needs repairing, mending or fixing, whether that be the copy machine, or that project you are working on. This is your opportunity to amend, edit and review before submitting.

Aquarius

Many an Aquarius will benefit from the upcoming ingress of Jupiter into Aries this week, which dares to make your life that much larger. It could also potentially make it that much busier. One of the common complaints of having Jupiter in this quarter of your natal or solar chart is the feeling of being over-committed and having to be in a number of places at once. One of the reason for that can be the tendency to say Yes to just about everything. But who wouldn’t with Jupiter in Aries? We’re all feeling that much more optimistic and everything seems that much more interesting. And in fact, in some way you are being asked to expand your mind and your perspective over the year ahead that Jupiter will be in this sign. This will include being able to look at things from another person’s point of view. Whether that be through a class you take, a book you read, or a conversation you have with a neighbor. Your vision is daring to get that much broader.

Mercury is also stationing for its retrograde phase this week, entering a period of reevaluation and review. This can mean casting out those things that are no longer working, in order to make room for the things that you are wanting and needing more of. What are the things that are standing in the way of you being able to enjoy your life, to do the things that you really want to do, as opposed to what you have to do? In what ways are you finding it difficult to relate to others, or find your own personal community? We often go into reflective mode when Mercury is in its retrograde phase. And this can be a valuable tool in recalling what it feels like to have that joy and spontaneity in your life once again.

Pisces

We often go into reflective mode when Mercury is retrograde, as it will be from May 10th thru June 3rd. All the more so with Mercury retrograde in Gemini, which brings you back to thinking about your earliest childhood memories, and the qualities that you associate with home, nurturing and belonging. And if you were to think about what home and family mean to you, would it be about the place, or the neighborhood? Or would it be about the people and the sense of support that you receive? One of the things that can happen is that people do actually return home, or reconnect with family members, revisiting old traditions and cultural values when Mercury is retrograde in this sector. These all will help you to reevaluate what you are most needing now in these areas.

Your ruling planet Jupiter is also entering Aries this week. It will return briefly to your sign again at the end of October for a few months, but for most of the year ahead it is going to be opening you up to the idea of receiving. Jupiter is a planet of abundance, and while in Aries it aims to allow you to embrace what that abundance can mean for you. This can be literal. This is when people get that raise, learn how to better manage their resources, or have that windfall fall in their lap. But perhaps more importantly are the ways in which your own sense of self-worth and self-esteem grows under the tutelage of Jupiter, who is here to remind you that you are worth investing in, and that you deserve the abundance that the universe has to offer.
