Your Weekly Guide To Planetary Influences - August 30 to September 5, 2021

AS LIFE SPINS more and more rapidly and circumstances clearly are beyond our control, we are increasingly compelled to seek the eye of the storm, the place of peace within. Without this inward focus and the restoration it provides, our mental and emotional states are continually shredded by external events.
It is essential for our well-being on every level that we establish a relationship with the light within, which is our own Divine Self. This is the aspect of our being that cannot be touched by what occurs in the outside world and thus is our place of peace and rejuvenation. Connecting with our Divine Self is not about escaping from the world, although it can feel like a mini-vacation in some ways. Instead, contact with this aspect of our being provides a spiritual and emotional nourishment that enables us to move into our lives and out into the world with greater confidence and faith.
(If the concept of Divine Self is new, here's an explanation from OrinDaben.com: "Divine Self is the Self that exists at an even higher level than your Soul. It is the Divine essence of your being, the source of all light and life within you. Your Soul is closer to your personality, and is an intermediary between you and your Divine Self until such time as you are able to directly experience and realize the Divine Self as who you are.")
MANY ARE REELING from all cosmic energies we've been working with throughout August. In this past week alone, we experienced one of the energetic pinnacles of the transformational Pluto-Eris square, multiple solar flares (the highest at level M-4), and a medium-level geomagnetic storm.
In the same way that the effects of a hurricane linger even after the storm makes landfall, we are still within the energy field of the Pluto-Eris square this week. In fact, with the fifth and final exact square occurring less than six weeks from now (on October 8), we actually are working with this dynamic aspect from now through late October. This means that we can expect disruptions and upheaval in the outer world to continue into the next two months, as the facade continues to be cleared away and truths are made evident.
WE ARE IN LAST QUARTER phase of the lunar cycle throughout the coming week. The phase begins when the Moon squares the Sun on Monday, August 30, and completes at the Virgo New Moon on Monday, September 6.
This final phase of the Moon is intended to be a time of reflection and reevaluation. As the Moon wanes, we benefit from taking a higher-level view of how life has unfolded since the last New Moon (on August 8). From a more detached observation point, we can more readily see what goals and manifestations we are now ready to release – and what we truly MUST leave behind – if we want to be open to our next cycle of growth.
HERE ARE the most significant planetary events that occur over the coming week, with my brief interpretations:
Monday
Last Quarter Moon, 12:13 a.m. PDT: See above.
Sun square Ceres: We see a clear disparity between our personal ideals and the opinions of family members. The challenge is not to deny ourselves, nor to reject loved ones, but to hold a level of self-worth that can receive but not be overly influenced by criticism from others.
Tuesday
Sun quincunx Saturn: Feelings of discouragement if we expect ourselves (or others) to be perfect, or to have everything under control. An attitude adjustment may be needed.
Wednesday
Saturn trine Ceres: This aspect helps us feel more emotionally stable, and enables us to discipline and direct our minds.
Sun sesquiquadrate Pluto and sesquiquadrate Eris: The Virgo Sun activates the Pluto-Eris square, shining a light on inconsistences in the political and social realms, and in the healthcare industry.
Thursday
Mars opposite Neptune: Confusion is possible if we are trying to figure everything out using only our practical minds and physical senses. We may not know which direction to go right now, or even what we truly want. This time is best used in aligning with the Divine Self and allowing peace of mind to guide our steps.
Friday
Venus quincunx Neptune: Be aware of a tendency to want to rescue others, or of allowing a desire to support a loved one divert you from your own values.
Mars sesquiquadrate Saturn: Frustrations occur if we are not yet clear on how to follow the insights from within us, and yet feel compelled to take action in some way.
Sun quincunx Chiron: Egos are more easily bruised today, so be sure to take time for self-care. Do your best to soften the voice of the inner critic and to accept both the perceived "good" and the "bad" in self and others.
Saturday
Mercury trine Saturn: An improved capacity to think through the issues and to plan next steps.
Sunday
Mercury trine Ceres: This aspect helps in talks with family, due to increased empathy.
Venus square Pluto and opposite Eris: Venus triggers the energies of the Pluto-Eris square. Relationship issues arise, making it hard to find our balance. Be aware of ways in which old patterns of codependency may be keeping us from speaking – or even seeing – a truth.
IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: Changes are on the horizon this year – and even though change can be unsettling, in some ways, you are very ready for a new life to begin. This is an insightful year, when you have a stronger ability to access your intuitive knowing. But you are also working with the remnants of your old life, as well as the expectations of family members. You may not seem as "perfect" as you normally like to appear; this year gives you the opportunity to truly listen to your own heart, and to absolve yourself of any guilt for not living up to your own or others' preconceived notions of what actions you "should" take. (Solar Return Sun trine Uranus, sesquiquadrate Pluto, quincunx Chiron, square Ceres, sesquiquadrate Eris)
In peace and with gratitude,
Pam
