2025 Capricorn Full Moon Power Shift

Stability is not a concept at the forefront of reality just now – but it certainly is in terms of our emotional lives and well being. Looking at how those are doing is the task of the Capricorn Full Moon.

This one may be more contemplative than tumultuous. Until moments of release arise.

A full moon in Capricorn often lacks the emotional excesses and drama of moons in other signs. Capricorn is steely-eyed (sometimes to the point of coming across as cold-hearted) and focused on practical considerations. It’s the land of the bottom line, valuing hard work and responsibility and expressing support through providing instead of hugs and kisses and other forms of connecting.

It’s possible and appropriate to view dramas cresting now through the lens of contemporary business practices. Some situations might come across as case studies in adulting – some successful, some falling short. Others you might look at as status reports on project management targets – again, some successful, some falling short and some, possibly, no longer feeling right or desirable.

What you do with the input will probably be calculating and methodical – at least, during the evaluation stage. What’s the condition of your goals? How do they feel? Are you shouldering the weight of the world, or are people around you stepping up and doing their part? Or any part at all?

Does it feel worth it to continue on? Wherever it does, this Moon has the elbow grease and incentive. The Moon is making a wide trine to Mars in Virgo. The Moon is identifying tangible goals, responsibilities and security – this feels good; this could use some work, this does not make me good feel at all — while Mars is supplying the elbow grease and painstaking follow-through. The pair is a combo for making things happen, with the Moon in Daddy mode and Mars flexing his fix-it gene.

The pair will also help you address whatever doesn’t feel right, good, secure or stable. Though the Moon itself is not demanding or triggering release, Capricorn’s ruler Saturn is definitely angling for that. Saturn, the taskmaster, big boss, champion of the status quo, and advocate of adulting, is teaming with three other outer planets to facilitate instinctive, daring and possibly abrupt changes.

Saturn is sparking direct, unpremeditated bursts of inspired action, through his travels with Neptune (they’ll come close to a conjunction July 17, presaging their ultimate meeting in February). Some of that action is heading for windows, doors and opportunities with Uranus, newly in Gemini, and Pluto, still in the early degrees of Aquarius. These two are delivering the abandon that Saturn usually lacks, opening us to wildly new thoughts, new possibilities, multiplicities of options, and changes in friends and communities and dreams.

Uranus and Pluto are blowing open wild new horizons. Saturn and Neptune are igniting the boldness and perhaps the wisdom needed to explore them. And the Moon is pointing to the the path ahead. It’s in a sextile to the North Node in Pisces, location of a cosmic “This way to the future” sign. The Pisces North Node reminds us of the interconnectedness of all life, and of the higher purposes in our striving down here on earth. The Node’s contact to the Moon softens goals and status reports. It suggests that when we are responsible to and for ourselves, we are also responsible to and for others. And it is more than whispering: You can’t take it with you.
