The April 2024 Wesak Festival Full Moon of 5 Taurus-Scorpio Pt. 2

The April 2024 Wesak Festival Full Moon of 5 Taurus-Scorpio Pt. 2

Sabian Symbols Showing the Light of
Reorientation Taking Shape as a Stable Reality.

As most of you know, the December 2020 Solstice conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at 1 Aquarius launched new 20 and 200 year eras. This Lunation continues to sprout Aquarian seeds during the last great compression for 300 years to come.

I’ll speak more about the bigger picture after the Sabian Symbols. For now, let’s take a closer look at this stabilizing wisdom-producing Full Moon occurring at 4:49 pm PDT on April 23 at 5 Taurus/Scorpio.

January and February are the times each year when the long wave Aquarian energies set into motion in 2020-2021 are renewed, with March and April giving impetus and solidity to the renewed Aquarian pulses. We are in a long wave building era, so stay focused on the new, the ideal, and whatever larger sense of purpose you’ve been glimpsing since then. Though Aries and Taurus are the times of yearly renewal, we’re still dealing with the past and its ghosts with Mars, Saturn, and Neptune all in that sign!

As this Full Moon has Sun in Taurus and Moon in Scorpio, the Light of a gentle persistence and grounded Wisdom can be expressed through Scorpio’s focused intensity in the face of the truth that all forms pass away. The Light of individual value can now be expressed through a sense of what it will take to create something of lasting value. This is a Taurus Light of Direct enjoyment expressed through a new Scorpionic intention and attraction.

This particular “Buddha Wisdom” is in play for the year, and reminds us that to move into the future we must sometimes bury the past, and if want to attract something new, we must often set aside the old. As the Full Moon fulfills the themes of the previous New Moon, in this case the recent Total Solar eclipse at 20 Aries, we can use the “removals and arrivals” promised by that Aries eclipse to find new arenas of effective activity. Simply put, you may have to move into a new field of action with people who are friendlier than the ones in the old field of activity.

That Aries New Moon Solar eclipse reminds us that Aries is the Light of direct action. As this Lunation has the Sun in Taurus and Moon in Scorpio, the Light of enjoying life on our own terms is expressed through Scorpio’s magnetism, attracting what we like and repelling what we do not like. This is the Light of a new “fulfilled worth” expressed through the deep attractions and communions shown by the Moon.

Because Taurus/Scorpio is the axis of the archetype of the Warrior/Guardian, we can be the stable focus we want, enjoying ourselves as we know when to advance, when to retreat, when to hold the line, and when to adapt. Guard boundaries and resources, and remember not to clutch at disappearing forms.

The Sun in Earth and Moon in Water shows a time of the Fixed Earth (stabilized practicality) of Taurus expressing its consistent groundedness through the Fixed Water (stabilized feeling experience) of Scorpio. This begins three Full Moon themes focused on the Actional and material levels of our existence.

At this time, 3 planets are in the first third of their sign, 2 planets are in the second third of their signs, and 5 planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates a major emphasis on the individual, mental, and spiritual levels, with a slight emphasis on the Actional-material levels of life and least energy on the emotional and social levels. Of note is the Spiritual Triad now are occupying different sectors while still approaching the completion of their many years in each.

Why Are Full Moons So Important?

At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.

That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.

Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. We are now in a time of the year when the inner planets have finished opposing the outer planets. In this chart there is only one opposition involving the Moon opposing the Sun. This creates an “awareness generator” focused between 3-5 Taurus/Scorpio.

Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?

The Sun is in Taurus, making Venus in Aries its worldly ruler, and TransPluto in Virgo its spiritual ruler. The Moon is in Scorpio, making Mars in Pisces her worldly ruler, and Pluto in Aquarius her spiritual ruler. With the rulers of the Sun and Moon in Aries and Pisces, we have a major Pisces backdrop to what’s going on in this Wesak Full Moon. Despite the pull to the past, finish up what’s needed, feel the delight as you move into the future, and enjoy the movement into a more pleasant momentum.

Besides the Lunation, Mercury is in Aries, ruled by Mars in Pisces, which is ruled by Jupiter in Taurus, which is ruled by Venus in Aries. Jupiter is in Taurus, ruled by Venus, and Saturn’s in Pisces, ruled by Jupiter. Uranus in Taurus is ruled by Venus, Pluto in Aquarius is ruled by Saturn in Pisces, and as usual, Neptune is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself.

That makes Venus, Mars, and Jupiter the main players in this chart, as they form a “chain of dispositors” which rules all the other planets except for Neptune who is its own “final dispositor.” By looking at how “chains of dispositors,” “final dispositors,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. You can find out more about dispositors in general, chains of dispositors, and mutual reception by going to Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?

The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames

Venus in Aries is in exile on a degree of receiving concentrated doses of spiritual energy and “good fortune upon putting forth effort.” As one of the three which rule the stage of life, this continues her prominence behind the scenes. The freshness of Venus in Aries can make initial meetings delightful and charming, and with no afflictions, there should be great promise in all new encounters, even if they may take a roundabout way to develop with Mercury retrograde.

If you want to know more about how to shape your Venus power to attract better friends and relations in the future, please consider getting your copy of my book The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin FlamesIt is the most comprehensive book on Venus ever written, and explains why we attract who we do and how to create more satisfying relationships in the future.

You will understand the foundations of long term healthy relationships and friendships, why Soul Mates come into our lives, and learn how to shape your attractive power to have better times with better people in the future. Even if you’re not looking for a partner, this book will explain why certain people with certain traits came into your life and what they taught you about yourself.

It has chapters on the qualities of each sign’s natural mate, the qualities of Venus in each sign, and when crucial choices and changes are made, affecting who we attract in the future. It was written for both astrologers and lay people, and as it has a thousand gems for better relationships, with self, others, and Source, please consider getting your copy by going to the link above! (And when you’re done, please leave a review on Amazon, since it helps the book and all other books on astrology as well!)

The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon

This Full Moon falls at 5 Taurus and 5 Scorpio. It is said that the first third (decan) of any sign deals with the actional, material, and physical levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the first decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Taurus (Venus with an added dose of Mercury) and Scorpio (Mars with an added dose of Mars).

Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.

The Solar degree symbol for the 5th degree of Taurus is “A widow at an open grave.” In the The Astrology of Personality, where Rudhyar uses the original Dr. Jones' class notes on the symbols, 5 Taurus is said to be a degree of “revelation of meaning behind fleeting appearances,” restless quest for understanding,” and “birth from illusion into reality.”

In The Astrological Mandala he offers that this degree is one of learning “the impermanence of all material and social bond.“ Fittingly, as this is the Buddha’s Enlightenment Full Moon, Rudhyar states “’all natural compounds decay, said the Buddha.’” He continues that everything “loses its potential energy through continuous actualization and the principle of integration and form is withdrawn, leaving the Void – ‘the open grave’ that ends all attachments.

He states “The Void is the great challenge,” and that we “must begin anew” and if possible at a “higher,” i.e., more inclusive and universal, less egocentric level.” He offers that this symbol “opens the door to self-renewal” and if we “discard the past” we can participate “in a larger sphere of existence.” He states this degree falls in the Span of Experience, Act of Differentiation and Scene of Substantiation on the Actional-physical level.

Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of “the impermanence of physical things whenever (we) permit reality to come to center in the static representation, and thus neglects the creative contribution through which (we) have responsibility for the larger whole.” He states “the need for an inner and constant return to every enduring value, … and for a complete and immediate release from all outworn elements of experience.”

He offers the keyword REORIENTATION. He states that when operating positively, the degree is “a genius for personal aplomb or an effective transcendence of disappointment and delay in an ever-spiraling self-discovery.”

The Lunar degree symbol for the 5th degree of Scorpio is “A massive, rocky shore.” In the original Jones class notes Dane Rudhyar published in The Astrology of Personality, he states this degree is one of “revelation of absolutely stable elements in all life,” and “strong confidence born of fundamental perception; or spiritual inertia.”

In The Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree is about “the inertia of all institutionalized procedures.” He speaks of how long it takes for land masses to rise from oceans and the “formidable resistance to storms” they present. He then uses it as an analogy for how long it takes cultural ways of thinking, feeling, and acting to change once they are set, and offers that usually when individuals embrace a new way of life, they are dominated by cultural systems already in place.

He states “we see in (this symbol) how binding and resistance a communal way of life can before,” and how “there is strength and stability” until “new horizons beckon, and he offers us the keyword “stability.” He says this degree falls in the Span of Retention, Act of Group Integration, and Scene of Communion on the Actional-material level.

Dr. Jones says this is a degree of “the dependability of the physical universe whenever (we) hold the center of reality within (ourselves) and use the static constituents in nature as a sustainment for (our) essentially dynamic being.” This implies “the need for a direct and continual attention to the overall interests of the self at every point in life.”

He continues, “here is an exaltation of pure experience in its eternal and universal lineaments.. He offers us the keyword STABILIZATION, and he says when operating in a positive way, this degree is one of “a poised spirit and a firmness of personality which enable every individual to prepare (themselves) and (others) for any possible contingency.

From these symbols it seems the Light of this Full Moon will help us find some truth related to impermanence and leaving the past to open a new life, expressed through a new stability and a strength of personality which allows us the ability to anticipate what’s coming. This is a way of letting go to attract something more permanent, or see our strength by reviewing what we let go of in the past.

Be willing to let go in order to attract something expressing your stability and strength. As the Moon is the handle of the Bucket, it shows that we may glimpse permanent forms we’re living which endure despite all that we’re letting go of via the planets in Pisces.

We’re in an Era of Overlapping Capricorn and Aquarius Cycles

As you know by now, we had numerous important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March 2020, including a 12 year cycle and a 33 year cycle! Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all made conjunctions in Capricorn in January and March 2020 which were activated by Mars in March 2020. Mars completed its run at its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius which also set long wave preliminary Aquarian structures into play which are expanding and currently taking shape for the next 16-17 years. The next few weeks renews that Aquarius pulse, and promises 2024 to be a very “Aquarian” year!

We’re seeing the competition between the Capricorn and Aquarian cycles play out in the world between the regressives and the progressives, between the forces of control and the forces which resist control, and between the materialists and the idealists. The Capricorn cycles will be in play for many years to come, but by mid-century they will wane while the Aquarian cycles will have become dominant.

That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we’ve had a lot of long wave Pluto energies expanded which will show effects over the next decade! If you’re wondering how this Great Compression and those to come will impact us, please check out the linked articles on the bottom of Part 1 of this series published yesterday.

TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Tests of Human Redemption

I’ve included this section for many years to keep you all aware of the workings of Divine Mother on our Earth in this Age in Transition. Rather than simply reprint it each month, I created this material as a separate article unto itself a while back. If you want to know more about the vast spiritual field coaxing us toward a great redemption of the promise of Life itself, please take a new look at TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Spiritual Lessons of 2024. We have now returned to a time where we are again learning to get over our preconceptions and greet others with an open mind.

*********

At the 2020 World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)

In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,

The Great Invocation

From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on Earth

From the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to Earth

From the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serve

From the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.

See you soon with part 3 covering aspects, planetary sequencing, and other important factors in this Wesak Festival Full Moon.
