Two Outer-Planet Retrogrades

Hello friends,

Today I'd like to prepare you for Mercury Retrograde (July 17 to August 11), discussing how a sense of humor can be a powerful tool.

I'll also talk about two outer-planet retrogrades occurring, giving you tools for navigating these. Continue reading for background.

Background

Mercury Retrograde is often associated with communication mishaps, technology glitches, time delays, and general misunderstandings. Words associated with a retrograde: review, re-evaluate, plans changed or canceled. Example: you scheduled a meeting at X time and no one showed up - for some reason attendees mixed up the time or place of the meeting.

Adding to the Mercury Retrograde energies, we have two outer-planet retrogrades.

1. Saturn retrogrades in Aries on July 13, then slowly reverses back toward Pisces in September. This period promotes re-evaluation of responsibilities, authority, leadership and long-term structures.
2. Neptune retrogrades in Aries from July 4 through December 2025. This period invites a deep review of dreams, illusions, and spiritual purpose. Combined with Mercury Retrograde, expect blurred messaging and intuitive insights - take time to discern what is real.

How A Sense Of Humor Is Your Ace

Since Mercury Retrograde can throw plans off course, apply a sense of humor so you can laugh instead of panic - diffusing stress and making it easier to stay calm and adapt. Example: instead of getting angry at your GPS for sending you in circles, you might say "Guess Mercury wants me to explore the scenic route today."

When you have a communication breakdown, use humor to de-escalate tension, admit mistakes, and keep things lighthearted. Example: say something like "Let's blame Mercury and reset this situation."

Funny examples of how Mercury can mess with your life:

"I tried to reschedule a Zoom meeting during Mercury Retrograde. Somehow I ended up on a Teams call, with my camera on, wearing pajama pants, talking to the wrong client."

"I tried to start my car so I could go to work for a meeting. Nothing I did started it. I finally gave up and went back inside my home - where it was challenging to focus on anything but the car. I decided to do other things at home, then four hours later I started my car with no problem. In hindsight, laughing to myself, I realized I had preferred to stay home."
