2018 Virgo Full Moon
01 March 2018 at 4.51 pm PST- 7.51 pm EST
02 March 2018 at 12.51 am GMT- 8.51 am AWST Perth, Australia- 11.51 am AEDT Sydney, NSW
Here in the North Country the last few days had been quite mild. The recent rain had washed away the snow and the grass was showing green. It felt like spring. But this evening as Snowy Owl and Shooting Star climbed the path to the Star Temple to do ceremony for the Full Moon it was snowing softly. Winter was not done yet. Still the sisters felt a sense of calm and quiet as the snowflakes landed on their faces and heads. Winter was a time of quiet stillness before the time of new beginnings that was just ahead. But they were a little disappointed they would not be able to visually see Sister Moon’s full face. It always made the messages more powerful when they felt bathed in her silver glow.
Grandfather Sun had set a while ago but the freshly fallen snow provided a lightness to the dark land. The silent stillness was welcome. As the sisters settled in the center of the Star Temple the snow had stopped and they quietly awaited Sister Moon’s message. As they heard her gentle voice coming from the east direction Snowy Owl and Shooting Star saw that the Cloud People had parted and there was Luna rising in the night, her full radiant face casting silver blue shadows on the snow. It was a mystical and magical feeling.
Sister Moon spoke “This Full Moon Time is a powerful opportunity for healing any separation from self and Source you may be feeling. This is particularly true in the far away time. Creator and Great Mystery are always guiding you but when you disconnect from that guidance you lose your way. The Animal Totem that guides me and the Earth Mother at this Full Moon is Brown Bear. She teaches you to look deeply within and heal old wounds that no longer serve you in any way. In fact those very wounds prevent you from being of spiritual service to the world. Even more significant the mind, body, and spirit woundedness you continue to hold onto prevents you from walking through the new doorway that is opening up in a few sunrises and continues to open wider for the next five Moon cycles.”
Sister Moon continued “Grandfather Sun has many travelling companions at this Lunation that are supporting you to discover your spiritual power and embody that power. There are many changes on the horizon that some two leggeds will fear. But when you are connected with your true spirit change becomes opportunity to create the new. For the next few days focus on healing, forgiveness, completion, and release. When that happens you have created space for the new to come into being.”
Snowy Owl and Shooting Star watched Sister Moon rise higher in the night until she was again covered by the Cloud People. Even though they could no longer see her the message continued to resonate. They felt their spirits expand and touch the mystical sky.

Full Moon’s always have a touch of magic. When you look up in the night sky and see Luna’s full face it opens your mind to otherworldly energies. This Virgo Full Moon is very special. She is the Rainbow Bridge of Healing into Wholeness. Opposite the Moon are all the planets in Pisces, the Oneness of All. They are Juno (committed relationship) the Sun (individuality) Neptune (illumination) Mercury (thoughts and perceptions) Venus (self-love) and Chiron (healing). This gathering of planets in Pisces is the destination when we cross the Rainbow Bridge. In fact the Sun and Neptune are closely conjoined and offer a portal into the mystical. Neptune is the ruler of all the Pisces energies. Mercury at 22 degrees Pisces, the ruler of the Virgo Moon, is closely conjoined Venus at 23 degrees Pisces. Another portal into the mystical. They are trine (ease and flow) Jupiter at 23 degrees Scorpio (healing and transformation). Pluto at 20 degrees Capricorn (transformation of society) is sextile (easy opportunities) both Jupiter and Mercury/Venus. Wonderful support for releasing those old wounds that no longer serve us in any way.
The spiritual ruler of the Virgo Moon is Chiron at 27 degrees Pisces (healing our woundedness and healing the world wound). He is travelling with Mercury (our thoughts) and Venus (love). If we are having difficulty letting go (our wounds do serve a purpose even if it does not feel positive) we do have a challenge that is motivation for change. Vesta at 19 degrees Sagittarius (commitment to our spiritual vision and the sacred guide for Virgo) is travelling with Mars at 20 degrees Sagittarius (spiritual action). They are square (finding new ways of doing things) Mercury, Venus, and Chiron. As we mentioned “motivation for change”. Vesta and Mars are trine (removal of obstacles) Eris at 22 degrees Aries (purposeful action) and Uranus at 25 degrees Aries (breaking free from the old and breaking through to the new). If we need more motivation to let go Pluto in Capricorn squares Eris and Uranus. Pluto does not understand resistance. He is the master of transformation whether we are willing or not. The good news is March 04 is a powerful day for healing and release. The Sun and Neptune merge, Mercury and Venus join each other, and then they both meet Chiron late afternoon EST. The integration of mind, body, and spirit which is the focus of this Virgo Full Moon.
As our story mentioned the Animal Totem guide for the Virgo Moon and the Earth in Virgo is Brown Bear, healing and The Healer. For the Sun and the other planets in Pisces our guides are Cougar, spiritual power, and Wolf, who guides us through change (they are reversed for the Southern Hemisphere). These guides will always appear to help when we ask. For all of us the Clan Mother for Virgo is Setting Sun Woman, the guardian of tomorrow’s dreams and goals. She teaches us to LIVE THE TRUTH. For Pisces it is Weighs The Truth, the keeper of equality and the guardian of justice. She teaches us how to ACCEPT THE TRUTH. (The 13 Original Clan Mothers by Jamie Sams)
This Virgo/Pisces Full Moon activates the Tarot Constellation of The Hermit, the principle of introspection and journeying within. The 9th Tarot card most often depicts an old man holding a lantern in front of him lighting the way forward but he is looking over his shoulder at the past. This Full Moon is asking us to release the past and be prepared to move forward even if we do not yet know what awaits us. The prominent Ray energy for this Full Moon is the 6th Ray of Idealism and Devotion with Archangels Uriel, peace and harmony, and Aurora Grace, balance and love. Let us all devote ourselves to shinning the light of Loving Kindness out into the world.
On March 06 Mercury enters Aries at 2.34 am EST and Venus enters Aries at 6.45 pm EST. Inspired new beginnings are ours if we have released the old and made space for the new.
