2021 Virgo New Moon

New Moon’s traditionally initiate new beginnings where we focus on what we want to create for the new cycle. This one is different. It asks us to journey within and discover our spiritual essence and spiritual unity. The road ahead is filled with twists and turns (the next few months) so it is important to find our Sacred Center and allow that to be our navigator. Virgo (and Pisces) is found on the Tarot Constellation of The Hermit, introspection and personal integrity. Virgo is exploring our inner universe and Pisces shows us “As Above so Below, as Below so Above”. This is the theme during the Sun’s journey through Virgo and the Earth’s journey through Pisces.

Virgo is the transition between the personal signs and the interpersonal signs. I call it the Rainbow Bridge of Healing into Wholeness. The Hermit is holding a lantern to light up the darkened path ahead but he is looking over his shoulder at the past. If we do not heal the past we take it with us wherever we go. This Virgo New Moon offers us the space to heal and release old wounds. The traditional ruler of Virgo is Mercury (our thoughts, perceptions, and how we communicate). That is why Virgo is described as analytical, detail oriented, critical, and a perfectionist. When we seek perfection we miss the magic. On this New Moon Mercury is at 10 degrees Libra (inner balance creates outer harmony). Libra is the first of the interpersonal signs, relationship between self and others, balance and harmony or division and conflict. Mercury will retrograde Sept 27 at 25 degrees Libra and moves direct on Oct 18 at 10 degrees Libra (that same day Jupiter moves direct). Today Mercury enters his retrograde shadow and asks us to heal and release old issues that keep us caught in the past. That is the theme for his journey through Libra. He will be in his shadow until Nov 02. All relationships will be up for review and realignment and sometimes letting go.

Spiritually Virgo is mind, body, spirit alignment. It is the sign associated with health and wellness, especially holistic healing as well as meditation and yoga practices. This New Moon’s spiritual guide is Chiron, the wounded healer, at 11 degrees Rx Aries. He carries the wound of rejection, betrayal and abandonment and is opposite Mercury in Libra. Oppositions ask us to find balance. This one emphasizes the theme to heal wounds that keep us caught in the past. Chiron in Aries carries the energy of The 7^th Ray of Awakening and Freedom with Archangels Zadkiel and Amethyst, the guardians of The Violet Flame of Transformation. “In calling upon the Violet Flame, we pull down the energy needed to change our fears into love, our doubts into true knowing, and our bodies into alignment with new frequencies. We draw energy into our old thought forms and limitations to transmute ourselves and the earth into the next level of expression.” (Invocations to the Light by Wistancia Stone)

This New Moon in Virgo finds the Moon in her Soul Centered home. It is time for Soul searching. We are guided by the 6^th Ray of Devotion with Archangels Uriel and Aurora Grace, peace, love, and harmony. We are also guided by 2^nd Ray of Love and Wisdom with Archangels Jophiel and Constance Christine, who guide us on the Path of Illumination. The New Moon is at 14 degrees Virgo 38 and is trine (removal of obstacles) Uranus Rx at 14 degrees Taurus 39. Uranus in Taurus is identifying what is of true value and importance and breaking free from what is not. Taurus is 4^th Ray of harmony through conflict or harmony through beauty and peace. It is the Ray of humanity. Uranus is a 7^th Ray planet. He is called the Awakener. It is time to awaken to your Soul’s Guiding Wisdom.

Mars the planet of action plays a part here too for this New Moon cycle. He is at 24 degrees Virgo 51 and is inconjunct (letting go of the old ways) Jupiter Rx at 24 degrees Aquarius 57. Jupiter in Aquarius is the vision for a New Consciousness of uniting in love. That requires not just individual healing but universal healing. We do have help. Mars is trine (removal of obstacles) Pluto Rx at 24 degrees Capricorn 31. Pluto in Capricorn is transformation of society. Capricorn is also found on the 7^th Ray. Mars is a 6^th Ray planet. Devotion to Love and Peace. But the Universe always throws in a BUT. Venus the guide for the Mercury in Libra journey is at 25 degrees Libra 24. Venus in Libra wants peace and harmony and she is trine (ease and flow) Jupiter in Aquarius (new vision). But she is also in square aspect (challenge to finding new ways of doing things) with Pluto in Capricorn (transformation). Pay attention to what comes up for healing. This is a preview for Dec when Venus will be in Capricorn travelling with Pluto in Capricorn. She retrogrades Dec 18 still joined with Pluto. But who knows where we will be then. New Moon in Virgo says “be here now”. As part of your journey you may want to read “The Power Of Now” and “A New Earth” both by Eckhart Tolle.

Our Animal Totem guide for this Virgo Moon cycle is Brown Bear, introspection, healing, and The Healer. For the Earth in Pisces we are guided by Cougar, spiritual power, and Wolf, the teacher who guides us through change on our path of transformation. They are reversed for the Southern Hemisphere. They also guide us at the Pisces Full Moon of Sept 20. For this Virgo New Moon the Clan Mother who guides us is Setting Sun Woman. She is the keeper of tomorrow’s goals and dreams and the guardian of personal integrity and the proper use of will. She teaches us to live the truth.
