There’s an old Sioux legend about a time of no rain for many months.

Fear grew among the people and spread across their vast prairie lands. It killed everything in its path—people, animals. trees, plants.

But there was a small part of the prairie where a few children and elders were playing, singing, and dancing. And they had invited Fear to join them. Soon, they were all crying.

The wind carried the singing, dancing, and crying out across the vast prairie. Soon, tears were falling like rain, giving life back to the barren prairie which had become a desert.

What is the lesson we can draw from this ancient legend?

Although this is changing today (for the better), many humans have no idea how their states of mind affect the world. Obviously, they also have no idea how powerful their minds—their consciousness—is.

How often have you heard someone (maybe even you) bemoan the cruel way “life” treats them?

For example, if something “bad” happens in someone’s life, frequent responses go something like this:

• I knew this would happen!
• That’s just my luck!
• If it wasn’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all!

And so on.

What many miss is the fact their states of mind create their life circumstances. You all are familiar with the so-called Law of Attraction. Simply, the law means you get what you focus on most.

In today’s unsettled world, it’s easy to get caught up in negativity and fear. As we’ve said many times before, the whole world around you could be going to hell. Yet you, alone, could be thriving.

How? You pay attention to your consciousness, your state of mind. You fully realize Fear is your enemy. It is the opposite of Love.

If, like the Sioux elders and children playing on the prairie, you could befriend Fear and invite it into your circle of light and love, it will not survive. Love dissolves Fear. It’s that simple.

Then, like those elders and children, you will invite the rain you so desperately need. But the “rain” will be whatever serves your highest and best good.

What that means, of course, if you are on a path of deliberate, conscious spiritual growth, you personally will benefit. More importantly, so too will all those you serve.

After all, most of you on your planet today volunteered for this mission to be of service to all.
