Healing ourselves is a fascinating, and often contentious, subject. Can we heal ourselves, no matter how minor or serious the issue?

Our modern society generally says, loud and clear, “No, it’s not possible!

And so we seek healing in every place except the only place we will find it—within.

A Course In Miracles tells us sickness is of the mind, and has nothing to do with the body….Who is the physician? Only the mind of the patient himself. The outcome is what he decides that it is.

Those are pretty powerful statements. They make no exceptions. They do not say you can heal yourself except if you have cancer (or whatever the dreaded disease is). There are no exceptions. You have all the healing power you need to heal whatever ails you. (And you also have the power to heal the world.)

Of course, there are many elements of society that work against self-healing. Often, those elements have to do with power and money. But they cannot interfere with anyone who sees sickness (and health) through the eyes of Spirit.

As A Course In Miracles puts it, “One need but say, ‘There is no gain at all to me in this (sickness) and he is healed.”
