The sun will have a major blackout and connections to the other satellites of light will be restored, which are already available there, but not at a level visible to humans. That tech junk they have, it's not going to withstand the first big flash that comes with force.

There's already been a very powerful flash these days and there have been several spot-on blackouts in some parts. And we keep waiting for other emanations, other flashes, until one comes that works and crashes the entire communication system.
