Here’s my guidance for March/April 2023, covering the month beginning with the new moon in Aries on March 21st (in the UK).

The Thoth Tarot suggests we engage with the energy of the Six of Disks this lunar month. The subtitle is immediately uplifting, indicating successful new developments and feelings of abundance, enjoyment and growth. I find it so interesting that with the Spring Equinox only yesterday reminding us of balance, so does this card. It suggests that these practical, positive results come about through aligning forces in harmony and reciprocity, both spiritual and material.

There is the idea of “enough” rather than overflowing abundance; taking only what you need before also giving back to replenish the source that provided for you. Any unreasonable, demanding, or selfish expectations will disturb the energetic balance offered here.

So the message is that this month you (and the world) can look forward to the beginning of positive developments in the physical world, and its essential resources, that you may have only been able to dream about until now. If we drill down into the themes of the planets represented on this card, there is some clear guidance on all the necessary elements to bring into play to ensure whatever you’re doing can thrive:

Saturn: Go over every detail and plan carefully and thoroughly, one step at a time. Don’t rush this essential foundation work – more haste less speed.

Jupiter: Expect some lucky breaks and some surprise revelations which may change your approach as you go along. Stay open and flexible and never let go of your self-belief that you can do it.

Venus: It’s vital that you’re deeply emotionally invested in whatever you’re bringing into being. If you don’t care about it then you won’t have the necessary impetus behind you. At this time, whatever you do has to include a level of loving service to the greater whole rather than just personal gain.

Mercury: You’ll need to communicate effectively with others to get them on board. Swap and discuss thoughts and ideas with others to brainstorm and then synthesis the very best approaches and solutions.

On a more personal level, this card talks about ensuring you practice receiving and giving in every aspect of your life. Usually we tend to be better at one of those than the other, but to keep ourselves balanced we need to be comfortable with both! So if you’re someone who gives at your own expense all the time, as most women and sensitives often do, then this month is perfect for introducing a regular gift to yourself. It could be a massage, or just ten minutes by yourself with a cup of tea and no interruptions guaranteed. Remember that teamwork aspect so you could, for example, promise your children to watch a film or cook their favourite meal when your ten minutes is up.

This month, introduce plans and practices that benefit everyone and everything in your life and make it a little happier and easier. Even if right now that just doesn’t seem possible, this card tells you that what you need will be available and in giving you will also receive.

Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac and its pioneer and warrior, so there’s energy in abundance for new beginnings that you can trust to be stable. Watch out for some lovely social and spiritual connections at the end of March that can enhance your ability to care for the planet and for humanity. A major cultural change is really on its way at last, that will heal deep wounds from the past as long as that balance between giving and receiving is honoured.
