Inner Wisdom: Flow, Presence, and Ease in Daily Life

When my life becomes hectic, I tend to fall back into old patterns that continue to carry me forward.

That used to work brilliantly for me in the past. But recently, my relationship to energy has changed.

I have noticed that the more Present I become with my own Inner Wisdom, the more easily life flows. Not in the old ways of making lists, organizing, controlling, or attempting to manipulate everything. But in a much more subtle way of allowing energy to serve me from my own innate wisdom with ease and grace.

That’s been happening so often lately that when life throws a stumbling block in my path, it catches my attention in ways it never has before. Whereas, I would have normally attempted to “fix” what appeared to be broken, I’ve now learned to pause and give it space to resolve from a higher perspective.

That perspective doesn’t come from asking AI for a solution or from the Universe whispering in my ear. It arises from within me, from my own Inner Wisdom.

A Home Repair Lesson

Let me share a simple home repair example. . .

My toilet began to sing so loud it rose above the Christmas music I was playing. Have you ever heard a toilet sing? Me neither. But my toilet sounded like a soprano warming up for a full performance.

My first response was to lift the lid to see who was hiding in my toilet. Surprise! There was no mermaid swimming in the water. Next I turned off the water valve. Of course the singing stopped, but when I turned the water back on, the soprano dropped into a baritone. After turning the water back off, I disassembled the mechanism, cleaned it, and turned the water back on. The chorus had retreated and was replaced by the soft purring of a cat. Progress indeed, but not the final result I was hoping for. After fiddling with it a bit more, there was nothing more I could think of, so I turned the water valve off and went to bed.

As I lay in bed, I realized everything I had done so far was coming from my “fix it” mode. What if there was another potential I had overlooked? What if there was a message for me in this scenario? So, before I fell asleep I asked my Inner Being. . . . “Show Me! Show me what I need to know.”

Presence and Inner Guidance

The next morning I went to the toilet and turned the water back on. . . . very very very slowly as I was guided to do. All was quiet until the water pressure increased and voila’! The soprano was back clearing her throat! All I had to do was reduce the pressure. Then everything went serenely quiet and was functioning normally once again.

What a realization! Isn’t that how we naturally respond to too much pressure in our lives? The crazier life becomes, the noisier it becomes, and we instantly we fall back into our old patterns.

All it takes is one deep breath, and a step away to reduce the pressure and become fully present with our own Inner Being. And if things have gone askew, with a simple request of our innate Wisdom: “Show Me” . . . new potentials abound with ease and grace.
