A New Moon Ritual

A New Moon Ritual

New Moon Ritual:

You will need a white candle, some dried sage, and four crystals of your choice.

(I used amethyst, unakite, quartz and amethyst) Have some matches to light the candle and the sage. A jam jar of water that you left outside. A feather, a pen, and some paper to write on. And some crunchy leaves.

The new moon is the clean slate.

So, make sure you are not going to burn down the place you are in. I have the jam jar of water handy for this. Go outdoors and find a flat surface like slate or concrete slab, place your stones in a square. This is your Cardinal guide. N E S W

Let them guide you.

Ask your spirit guides or angels or animal guides or the wee folk to guide and help you now.

With gratitude for all you have in your life, both good and bad, ask the universe for the benefits, abundance and prosperity paid entirely NOW.

Light the candle and carefully burn a dry leaf of sage or two over your stones.

Repeat your mantra and burn the sage again. Wave the feather over your stones and crumble the crunchy leaves.

Sprinkle some water onto your stones using your fingertips or shine a light through the water onto the stones if they may dissolve or get damaged by the water.

The new moon wants you to start your dream life so writing down some dreams and looking at them every day till the next moon phase in 30 days is a great idea. You can see if this is really a dream you can do. Sometimes we say “I want to spend time with my family and work hard" but the two won't work together. Or I want this job, but we really know that you would hate the job. Make sure the dream is something you really want, not want just because it will make others happy or you unhappy.  If you give up on a dream, it's no big deal as there are other dreams you can work on. Dont lock yourself into one path and follow mutliple paths or dreams. And don't cut off your options or deny your potential.

This new moon is close to the harvest and if you want you could collect some autumn leaves or fruit It's the last new moon of the Swallow as soon, they will leave so add a feather to remind yourself of the waxing and waning of the moon, and of the seasons.

An Autumn New Moon Ritual

Other options:

  • Eating a cake or bread you made after the ritual to thank mother earth for her bounty.
  • Dancing or singing in a natural place. (ok, be careful and discreet. Some will do this naked so be very discreet.)
  • Meditation on gratitude and abundance over the next days is a great thing to do.

You have 72 hours around the time off the new moon to do this ritual.

Happy ritual!

"The energy is changing now as the autumnal influence takes over from a tired summer. You can see the red/gold/brown leaves of fall start to appear. Always remember that nobody knows it all, so follow your heart and let go of what no longer serves you!" - Crystal Wind(crystalwind.ca)
