GEOMAGNETIC ACTIVITY: Instead of working with major planetary aspects this week, we are currently riding the waves of strong geomagnetic activity.
An almost X-class, long-duration solar flare on May 30 released a coronal mass ejection (CME) along with very high-speed solar winds. That CME (a cloud of solar plasma and debris) reached Earth's magnetic field early on June 1 Universal Time, causing a Severe G4 geomagnetic storm that lasted about eight hours.
Strong geomagnetic storms affect not only our planet's upper atmosphere, but our human electromagnetic activity as well. Scientific studies have proven the connection between these storms and symptoms ranging from simple sleep disruption, to heightened nervousness and stress, to mental and physical fatigue, to changes in how our brains function, to variations in heart rate and cardiovascular health.
Space weather forecasts show geomagnetic storm activity continuing through Tuesday (June 3) in varying degrees. Self-support strategies for helping ourselves navigate these storms include drinking plenty of pure water, taking saltwater baths, spending time in nature, avoiding caffeine and alcohol, meditation and mindfulness, and conscious breathing.
JUNE OVERVIEW: Although there are no major planetary events occurring during this first week of June, the month ahead looks to be exceptional, with a wide variety of aspects—and some quite notable ones—on the cosmic agenda. Here is my short list of the events I see as being most significant, that I will write more about in the weeks ahead:
June 9: Jupiter enters Cancer—Our largest known planet is in each zodiac sign for about 12 months, and will journey through Cancer from June 9, 2025 to June 29, 2026. During this time, the qualities, issues, and industries we associate with Cancer will be highlighted and magnified. We can expect an emphasis on empathy and charity; a focus on home, family, and security; and developments in nursing, childcare, the food industry, and more.
June 11: Full Moon—This lunation creates a grand trine in fire signs between the Sagittarius Moon, Mars in Leo, and Chiron and Eris in Aries. There is a strong flow of energy at the time of the Full Moon that can inspire new creativity, courage, and confident action. The shadow potentials include self-absorption, egotism or pride, and a lack of restraint.
June 15: Mars squares Uranus, Jupiter squares Saturn—These are the strongest aspects that will occur this month, and so it is "interesting" to see them both perfecting on the same date. Any Mars-Uranus interaction can manifest as unexpected events that are "earthquake-like" in that they shake up the world as we know it. The last major hard aspect between Mars and Uranus was their conjunction on July 15, 2024.
The Jupiter-Saturn aspect is the third square between the two planets within the past 10 months; this aspect thus represents a culmination of tests and challenges to existing political, legal, and religious systems. An intriguing piece of this puzzle is that for the previous two exact squares, both Jupiter and Saturn were in mutable signs that tend to be more adaptable. Now that the two planets are in proactive cardinal signs (Cancer and Aries, respectively), manifestations will have a different flavor than they had last August and December. Plus, Jupiter is activating the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, which could open "a whole 'nother" can of worms. More to come on all this.
June 18: Jupiter squares Neptune—Overoptimism, overidealism, a questioning of faith, and disappointments or delusions are often seen when these two planets are in square aspect. However, since Saturn and Neptune are within one degree of being conjunct, we should also be seeing reality more clearly, with the possibility of major decisions being made.
June 22-24: Mars, Jupiter, and the Sun all quincunx Pluto—Issues of security, safety, and the use or abuse of power are highlighted. There could be an adjustment in the public's perceptions and opinions.
June 25: New Moon—This lunation in Cancer is conjunct optimistic Jupiter and sextile energizer Mars, supporting a positive attitude and courageous action. However, it also strongly activates the effects of three hard aspects listed above: the Jupiter-Saturn square, the Jupiter-Neptune square, and the Jupiter-Pluto quincunx.
June 27-29: Mercury trine Saturn, trine Neptune, and opposite Pluto—New information comes forward, potentially driving major decisions and a shift in ideologies. Investigations are underway, a search for truth is centerstage, and secrets could be revealed.
ASPECTS THIS WEEK: Here are my brief interpretations of this week's most important aspects, day by day:
Monday
No major aspects are exact today.
Tuesday
Mercury sesquiquadrate Pluto: The need to know is intensified, which could cause discomfort. Mistrust and suspicions trigger a search for answers.
Wednesday
Venus sextile Jupiter: Cooperation and a meeting of minds are supported with this aspect. We have a positive attitude that helps us be relaxed around others.
Thursday
Mercury sextile Mars, Mercury square nodal axis: The mind is very active and alert. We may be tempted to make quick decisions, but it will be important to also check in with our intuitive knowing before finalizing our plans.
Venus enters Taurus: Venus transits through its own sign from June 5 to July 4. During this four-week period, we value practicality and substance, preferring loyalty in our relationships and stability in our financial situation. However, Venus in Taurus can also inspire us to spend money on material objects that speak to our aesthetic sense and add beauty to our lives.
Friday
Mercury sextile Eris, Mercury sextile Chiron: We are drawn into conversation today and may be more willing than usual to both speak our truth and reveal our wounds.
Saturday
No major aspects are exact today.
Sunday
Mercury conjunct Jupiter: The need to communicate our thoughts and opinions is heightened today. The challenge could be to be sure to also listen consciously to others. This aspect can also increase nervous energy and represents potential information overload.
Mercury enters Cancer: Mercury will be in Cancer from June 8 to 26 this year. During this transit, our thoughts and words are strongly affected by our emotions. We may be more intuitive and empathic than usual. Some may experience the introspective side of Cancer, causing them to withdraw into their shell.
Sun sesquiquadrate Pluto: Some may use their words to manipulate or intimidate today, motivated by an unconscious fear and a need to control a situation.
IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: The desire for connection could inspire you to form or formalize relationships this year. However, you might experience an inner conflict between your innate Gemini restlessness and need for variety and your wish to experience longevity and loyalty. Frustrations could arise about when to pursue your own needs and when to accommodate another's wishes. This will challenge you to learn more about yourself and about your partner. Clear and honest conversations ultimately help you assess the relationship, seeing whether it can be fulfilling long-term, and how you each might be willing to be adaptable. (Solar Return Sun semisquare Venus)
In peace, love, and gratitude,
Pam
