The Aries Full Moon is coming in feral, hot and howling and raw and rabid on October 1, 2020 (9:05 PM UTC), at 9°8 of the sign, two degrees away from Chiron — portal of sorrow and wisdom and relief, blown open by the detonation.

So much for playing small. Or for ignoring the throbbing of our chronically wounded spots. Or for allowing outer circumstances to domesticate us into submission, robbing us of our primal scream. So much for downplaying our strengths, letting our Souls and our hearts wither and starve — letting ourselves be defeated. Luna is baring her fangs with the sempiternal ferocity of every living and bleeding being. Especially those that have been immured and crushed and choked off by our oppressive institutions, by societal expectations, by intergenerational trauma. Spotlighting Chiron in Aries’ invitation to reclaim our rage, this never-say-die Full Moon takes no prisoners.

Full Moons bring endings and culmination — sometimes, metaphorical deaths. And on the blood-soaked battlefield of Mars, it’s either us or the thing, situation, dynamic, that threatens to take us down. This Full Moon requires courage. It demands that we stand in the truth of who we really are, what we really want, what we are truly capable of, without backing down. Regardless of the narratives others have constructed about us. It all ends with us, here. Being nice at the expense of authenticity. Being congenial. Holding back our realness. Confronting the truth of what we’re here to do, and why us, and why now.

Because the thing is — Retrograde Mars, ruler of this Full Moon has been slicing and slashing and ripping and tearing open the area of our chart that contains Aries. The Full Moon in Aries is bound to shed further clarity on what this Retrograde transit has been digging up for us. It’s all there, in our flesh and bones. We can no longer ignore it. But we can turn it into strength and into the motivation to fight back and reclaim our dignity as human beings and take back what is ours.

This is not to say that victory will be served to us on a silver platter. Far from that. With the Mars/Saturn square in full effect by the time this Full Moon hits, the room for manoeuvre might be narrower than expected. Sometimes, fighting back means resisting. Or protecting, rather than attacking. Or negotiating and re-negotiating combat rules. Or reining in potential devastation and self-destruction. Saturn insists on integrity and on generating consequences and outcomes we can live with.

Walk in and out of that battleground with rectitude. Give this fight your everything. You have survived up to this point. You’ll survive this time and these times, too.
