Who Does It Affect and for How Long?

This Solar eclipse will remove all which would block our ability to cooperate with our inner nature, as well as outer Nature. This marks long term growth by the Taurus things it brings and the Scorpio things it takes away, demonstrated by whether our coming harvest is abundant or lacking.

There’s major internal movement and external productivity, and with Venus conjunct Jupiter, major blessings and abundance for those who have done internal purifications and shown they are able to take on positions of spiritual responsibility. This eclipse will bring unusual, unexpected, or revolutionary developments due to the conjunction with Uranus, and because the eclipse triggers the Grand Irrationality via the biseptile to Pluto, you can bet the next month (and the entire eclipse span) will bring externalizations in our destiny wherever we have 11 Taurus.

This eclipse will provide us all with a chance to see what we’re willing to work for based in the quality of the harvests we receive. This eclipse is almost entirely socially and spiritually focused, so it should help us fulfill many areas of our lives, even if that comes through letting go of all the things, values, and ways of using what we have which we no longer need or believe in. As with the last Solar eclipse, the peculiar quality of this eclipse is there are no oppositions, meaning there will be a lot of “self contained” energies in play, with a lot of favorable building aspects which will release energy through the inner changes shown by the semisquares between the Taurus stellium and the Pisces stellium.

All eclipses shut something down, taking away elements of our lives no longer true for us. As this lasts 3 hours and 53 minutes, it indicates the effects of this short and very weak eclipse will last about 3 years and 10 months. That means over the next (almost) 4 years we will go through endings in the house where we have Taurus while being pulled into our Truth of Being in the same arena of life. Taurus, the line of greatest development, is the sign representing our ability to substantiate and confirm the values and resources we need to support our self-image. It stabilizes the Aries impulse so that it naturally leads to the new views, new information, new understanding, and new Spiritual Brothers and Sisters shown by Gemini.

A Solar eclipse in Taurus takes away old things, values, and people, creating space to adopt more appropriate ways of relating to matter. Old values give way to new understanding of things and ideas of greater values, and old stubborn inertias give way to new enjoyment of life. So if old pleasures are no longer satisfying, it’s a clear signal to find new ones!

So What’s Happening Where?

Though I gave this to you recently in another article, it bears repeating here. A Solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth. The Moon blocks the light from the Sun and casts a shadow on Earth. In eclipse lore, where the eclipse is visible will be where the greatest effects can be expected, lasting the number of years that the eclipse is long in hours.

This Partial Solar eclipse at 11 Taurus occurs at 1:28 pm PST, 9:28 pm BST on April 30. The total penumbral phase is 3 hours 53 minutes, indicating an influence lasting a little under 4 years. So this eclipse is short, and with a magnitude of .64, it’s fairly dim. So it’s not a very intense eclipse, with the region of the greatest eclipse being Argentina, Chile, and southern Bolivia, as well as the southeastern Pacific. Of course it will also profoundly impact those with planets or points around 11-15 Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, as well as 26-30 Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini, and Virgo.

Because an Eclipse conjuncts the Moon’s Nodal axis, the nodes are very important guides showing the line of greatest development and showing what we know. The NN shows the line of development, and because it’s in Taurus, the challenge is to grow into a greater set of values, or a more aware way of using resources while letting go of old resentments and stuck feelings about past losses.

Embrace the search for more innovative ways to live as an individual on your own terms, and beware of getting lost in strong emotions about what’s leaving. This North Node will further growth in all Taurus areas as it promotes growth to fill the voids left by previous Eclipses in Taurus and Scorpio. Grow toward seeing what’s opening as a chance to “clean the slate of your attachments” and embrace new ways to enjoy life.

SN in Scorpio helps us eliminate old hurts, attractions and repulsions, and emotional power struggles based in buried intense feelings from the past. It can also give us opportunities to express the growing understanding of Taurus energy of the NN through “showing what we know,” and moving into the line of least resistance to find happiness. Whatever is cleared out via the Scorpio SN will over time attract new forms of Taurus expression and activities.

Look to the house where this Lunation falls to see what area of your life will be impacted, just as the houses where past Solar eclipses fell have already been shutting down obsolete patterns since then. I gave you the positions and links to past eclipses in a previous eclipse article. And remember that whatever is taken away will create an attraction for something more appropriate to who you are now, and who you are becoming.

More On the Influence of Eclipses

Besides the factor of where the shadow falls, in Astrology eclipses are said to be most powerful when they conjunct the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, or Midheaven of a birth chart. When this happens it always brings endings related to the planets and sectors involved, but these can be of great benefit in clearing away old life factors which have no place in our future. As you know if you’ve been here for any time at all, I believe that "something's lost and something's gained in living every day..."

So this one with the eclipse biseptile Pluto will bring major choices, changes, and forks in the road wherever we have 9-13 Taurus, 1-5 Cancer, 22-26 Leo, 14-18 Libra, 5-9 Sagittarius, 27 Capricorn-1 Aquarius, and 18-22 Pisces. Obviously, with the strong sextiles between the Lunation conjunct Uranus and Mars, as well as Venus, Jupiter, and Neptune all sextile Pluto, this will be phenomenally productive for anything we have in an Earth or Water sign!

Given a Solar Eclipse is a New Moon, then like all Lunations that work their influence over time, it triggers events related to previous celestial events, and is triggered by subsequent transits to those points. For example, we can assume this eclipse at 11 Taurus will be related to prior Uranus stations on this degree, and will be triggered by future transits over this point. This year we’ll have the Sun and Venus cross the degree, next year Jupiter will transit this degree three times, and Saturn will conjunct this degree a good deal of 2028 into 2029.

This eclipse also has similar evolutionary energies as were set into motion at the May 2003 Solar Eclipse at 11 Taurus, which had NN at 30 Taurus. And because of where Nodes are now, this eclipse will have some relationship with the October 2003 Solar eclipse at 2 Scorpio (even though the Nodes at that one were at 21 Taurus/Scorpio.)

Summing Up

This Eclipse, having several powerful sextiles and semisquares and no oppositions, will help us embrace a new way of life. This one “stirs the pot” to eliminate any impediment to our Spiritual Warrior coming forth as a natural harvest of who we are and what we value. With Venus ruling the eclipse and conjunct Jupiter, this will be a very favorable and abundant eclipse for those who are affected.

We now renew our Taurus adventure by letting go with our right hands as we receive blessings with our left! While eclipses usually take things away, this one will simultaneously bring us rewards and an abundance “perfectly suited to our individual circumstances.” Thought Saturn is still strong, Jupiter pretty much rules this stage, since it’s the final dispositor of all the other planets except Mercury, Saturn, and Pluto. And with Jupiter in its home sign on a degree of us receiving all we need, we enter a Summer of emptying one part of our life to receive blessings perfect for who we’ve become.

This eclipse is on the initiating degree in the individual and spiritual level of substantiation of resource and value. There is tremendous spiritual power available to those who are ready to “fulfill the obligations of their spiritual office.” See to the core of things, be more volitional and less reflexive in your responses, and cultivate your intuition, compassion, and feeling-awareness of the collective field.

There are so many productive aspects that I believe this will be a very beneficial eclipse, furthering the broader compassion needed at this stressed out time of expanded collective feelings. This Eclipse helps us remember that some endings are more a blessing than a problem, and ushers in a lighter and brighter era due to what we’ve learned about handling conflict and the need for “right action.”

Because Pluto leads the Bucket and the Lunation conjuncts Uranus, this eclipse is radically transformative and initiates extraordinarily productive economy of energy in whatever we need to do. It is extremely favorable for acting on our own enlightened interests, though some are at the end of a journey where they will confront their karma from the past. I suppose whether this is beneficial or stressful is determined by how we set things into motion back when.

Because Eclipses mark endings, finish up what you need to while preparing to move in a different direction because of what will be taken away. While the North Node is in Taurus, regard these eclipses as productive for shutting down old Taurus/Scorpio things and attitudes you no longer need. Whatever is taken away will yield voids opening new ways to receive and value whatever will support our future outreach and work in the world. We demonstrate these through the house where we have late Scorpio.

This is stabilizing, de-cluttering, flowing, compassionate, and visionary.

This helps us transform, let go of the past, keep us ready to act rather than get stressed about an unknown future, and helps us get a new plan. This eclipse blends past and present so we can let go of the former and stabilize the latter. This eclipse marks a defining line between what has been and what will be, and encourages us to be ourselves in new ways. A lot will be made manifest in a very short time when Venus and Mars transit the Eclipse degree.

We continue to move through the “birth pains” of the emerging Aquarian era. All that Jupiter opened in the way of vision and promise in 2021 will be crystallized by Saturn in 2022 and 2023. This one opens a new life, a new way of seeing what’s valuable, and a greater wisdom in seeing the whole picture at the end of the end. Take the large view of things, be easy as you dance with life, and use this year to practice utilizing spiritual power in compassionate ways. This will be a great eclipse, even if there may be internal conflicts from time to time.
