2018 Pisces New Moon

Here in the North Country spring was only a few days away but it still felt like winter. As Snowy Owl and Shooting Star awoke in the early morning of this New Moon day the grass that had been green was now snow covered. The air definitely had a winter feeling. Usually the sisters went to the Star Temple to do ceremony for the New and Full Moons but today they decided to go to the woods where they could build a fire to stay warm. It was that cold. As their fire grew its warmth was welcoming.

When they were settled in the clearing next to the fire three Sacred Totems entered the woods.  The first to speak was Brown Bear. “For the last Moon cycle I have been the guide for the Earth Mother. The gift I share with the two leggeds is introspection and mind, body, spirit healing. This New Moon is the time to experience completion and release. It is a Moon of transition from the past into the new”. Then Cougar spoke “I guide you to discover whatever your experience you always have the gift of spiritual power. It is found within your deepest self and once embraced can never be stolen from you. Along with Bear I support you to look to that inner power source and be your true essence self.” Finally Wolf spoke “I guide you as you make the transition from the old to the new. I am the Changer and teach you how to listen to your inner voice that tells you it is time for completion so you make space for the new to come into manifestation. This New Moon is an ending and a beginning. I walk with you in the space between”.

When the Totems had finished speaking they disappeared into the woods. Then Sister Moon spoke “As you travel this New Moon cycle remember the gifts these Animal Totems offer to you. They are the Guardians of this cycle of endings and beginnings. Be open to receive and there is a new doorway opening for you. It is the doorway of inspired new beginnings. All you have to do to walk through is heal, complete, and release the past.”

Snowy Owl and Shooting Star sat in silence and thought about what they needed to release so they could step through the doorway into the new. Knowing the Animal Totems were walking with them was comforting and gave each sister the strength to let go of what they no longer needed.

A Pisces New Moon can feel like “walking in a space between”. It is the promise of new beginnings but it also requires a completion and release so there is space for the new to manifest. It is a time to journey within your Inner Universe and heal what is broken (Brown Bear) discover your spiritual power (Cougar) and walk the path of change that leads to new beginnings (Wolf). 

The Sun and Moon at 26 degrees Pisces are travelling with Chiron at 28 degrees Pisces. This is powerful healing energy that is with us intensely for the next day as the Moon meets with Chiron exactly today March 17 at 11.40 am EDT and the Sun meets with Chiron on March 19 at 7.15 pm EDT.  The Pisces Sun is our Spirit, the Pisces Moon is our Soul Essence, and Chiron in Pisces is fixing what is broken. This is an opportunity to release those wounds from the past that keep us broken. The Sun/Moon and Chiron are squared (motivation for change and finding new ways of doing things) by Vesta at 25 degrees Sagittarius (commitment to our spiritual vision) and Mars at 29 degrees Sagittarius (spiritual action). The shadow side of this combination is allowing other people’s dogma to prevent us from following our true vision. The good news is Vesta and Mars are trine (removal of obstacles) Uranus at 26 degrees Aries (breaking through to the authentic self and new beginnings).

There are two planetary rulers for this Pisces New Moon. The modern ruler is Neptune at 14 degrees Pisces (illusion or truth) and is travelling with the Asteroid Juno at 10 degrees Pisces (spiritually connected relationships).  Neptune is sextile (ease of connection) Black Moon Lilith at 14 degrees Capricorn (feminine power in society). They form a YOD aspect with the North Node at 14 degrees Leo (the ego’s need for power). A YOD asks us to let go of what no longer works in our lives. The positive expression of the Leo North Node is to be guided by the compassionate heart. The traditional ruler of this Pisces New Moon is Jupiter at 23 degrees retrograde in Scorpio. He is trine the Sun/Moon and Chiron in Pisces and sextile Pluto at 20 degrees Capricorn. This planetary dance shouts healing and transformation is the theme in a powerful way.

In the Northern Hemisphere this is the last New Moon of the North Direction of our Medicine Wheel. The North is the place of stillness and translating knowledge into wisdom. Our Animal Totem guides are Cougar and Wolf. On March 20 when the Sun enters Aries we begin a new Medicine Wheel journey as we enter the East Direction, the place of spiritual awakening and inspired new beginnings. In the Southern Hemisphere this is the last New Moon of your South Direction, the place of growth and listening to your intuitive guidance. Your Animal Totem guide is Brown Bear. On March 20/21 (depending on your time zone) you enter the West Direction of your Medicine Wheel. This is the place of self-responsibility and embracing your inner Power. For all of us at Equinox (spring or autumn) Venus and Mercury will be joined together at 16 degrees Aries, inspired and creative new beginnings.

For our Pisces New Moon the Clan Mother who guides us is Weighs The Truth. She is the keeper of equality and the guardian of justice. She is the mother of truth and the destroyer of deception. She teaches us to accept the truth. (The 13 Original Clan Mothers by Jamie Sams). This New Moon is active on the Tarot Constellation of The Hermit, introspection and personal integrity. The 6^th Ray of Idealism and Devotion is influencing us. It is Devotion to our spiritual path. The Archangels of 6^th Ray are Uriel, peace and harmony, and Aurora Grace, balance and love. Pisces is also found on the 2^nd Ray of Love and Wisdom with Archangels Jophiel, spiritual fulfillment and creative power, and Constance Christine, spiritual illumination.
