We’ve shared about this before, but do you recognize that taking on a cause is not the same as enacting your purpose?

From time to time, I hear someone recount details of their purpose. Yet, sometimes, the details they share require a degree of judgment and mental directives. When mental meanderings get in the way, has a cause been adopted instead unknowingly? Do you recognize the difference between the two?

What’s a Cause?

According to Google, a cause is defined as “something you defend or advocate.” Google says that “to take up a cause means to act on or discuss how to act on a question, problem, or cause.” With a cause, judgment is required. Is there a perceived wrong to be made right?

A cause can be all-consuming. Yet I know personally that your purpose can also fill your days in an unending way. But there is a different energy involved here. Causes evoke an emotional energy that is unmistakable, and this is what you might see. See that a cause will enliven your days but, perhaps, not in a good way.

Is righting this perceived wrong to become your life? In other words, causes can grow in scope. Will your involvement here be a short or long-term objective? Righting a wrong that you believe exists can be a bigger undertaking and more mentally taxing than you might believe. 

So, how can inroads be made here? We suggest always starting from the heart space and sitting in a contemplation or prayerful way. If you don’t begin in this way, how do you ask for direction? Do you ask mentally?

Correcting a misdeed, wrong, or most anything will take time and resources. Perhaps it’s time to shift and change things into a more preferred state of being. Yet, do you see, there may be more to the story? What if this thing you thought to be factually wrong, mean-spirited, or unjust was actually justified? Perspectives are a tricky thing.

Is This Thing Valid?

How do you determine what is just or unjust? Do you see that the perspective held will yield how you believe this or that to be? It is that your perspective will formulate what you seek for another individual, institution, or organization to likewise do or be. Sometimes, you must shift perspectives and begin again.

Remember that there is a need for a degree of diversity to give distinction to choices. Could it simply be that?

Your Purpose

Yet, do you realize that you will continue to incarnate here until getting about what your Soul chose to understand? Isn’t that a bigger objective to consider? If you are ready to put an end to what is in play today, you might look again. It is because taking on a cause will not get you to where you truly seek to go.

So why is this life as it is? Why do things exist as they do? Do you wonder? Do you ask?

The mind loves to fill in the blanks. It loves to answer questions posed even when it has no idea as to the actual answer. You see, the mind gives you its best guess. That’s all it can do. And the thoughts that you believe are your own, well, are truly not that. Recognize that all the mental meanderings of the mind will not get you closer to your spiritual objective. How can it when there is not an understanding of what we discuss or propose?

Positive vs Negative

Rather than focusing on the negative, focus on the positive. Focus on uplifted considerations. Focus on the life you wish to manifest. Your focus will bring more into play in a good way. Focus is key because this is how you draw more of the things wanted into your life. Your focused attention draws like-kind energy to you. 

When trying to solve a problem or prevent something bad from happening, do you realize, when focusing on each of them steadfastly and intently, that you draw those very things to you? What is unwanted is perceived by Universe to be wanted because of the time spent focusing there. 

Release these negative, unwanted things and move to embrace what is wanted. Set your focus on that instead. In this way, you can bring more preferred things into your being, world, and future. When you do, the more preferred reality you wish to see will pop into play in a seemingly effortless way. 

And so release this or that. Release all things that hold no long-lasting merit. Bring full circle that which your Soul once wanted … and still wants to know. Focus here, not there.
