Dare To Know Yourself

Perhaps what you know about yourself and what you think about yourself are two different things. It often takes a journey of many lifetimes to comprehend the difference. What you think about yourself is an evolving opinion of worth, often based on your viewpoint of past experiences, your perception of current circumstances, and how you either positively or negatively judge the response of your behavior. Beyond the changing face of opinion is something much deeper. It is what you come to know about yourself.

Whether or not you have directly experienced yourself as divinity is rather inconsequential to this depth of knowing -- a knowing where the divine in you gets to know itself uniquely as an evolving being with hopes, worries, ambitions, talents, triggers, beliefs, wounds, and desires. All of which cultivates and reveals the unified spectrum of eternal light as each aspect matures within you. In order for such maturity to blossom, it is essential to know yourself by exploring questions such as:

What are my basic needs? How do I act when I am the one fulfilling such needs? How much differently do I respond when overlooking my needs or insisting others be the ones to fulfill them? What triggers me? What is the first sign that I am being triggered? Can I notice being triggered as a request for greater self-care I may be unaware of?

Do I honor or deny my desires? Do I build stories about myself, life, or others when such desires remain unfulfilled? Do I spend more time chasing the fulfillment of desire than caring for myself? How willing am I to serve the necessity of my own personal needs, no matter how threatened by rejection or judgment I may feel?

What addictions are present in my reality? Are there numbing agents I indulge either subtly on a daily basis or as moments of overconsumption as a release from the daily pressures of life? How deeply do I really want to know myself and what am I willing to surrender, give up, or set aside to embody how ready I am for a deeper knowing to emerge?

In essence, what you think about yourself exists in the fantasy of imagination. What you know about yourself is not a fantasy, conclusion, or opinion of any kind. It is an evolving level of awareness that is always open and accessible when ready to look within, learn, grow, and evolve — no matter how harsh or smooth a learning curve any moment reveals. Knowing in the depths of your heart, it is your willingness to love your innocence and care for the importance of your personal needs that brings this deeper knowing into greater awareness.

Are you in any way hiding in what you think about yourself, going back and forth on what you think about others, or wondering what others do or don’t think about you? If so, are you willing to set all of that aside by daring to know yourself as a space of pure divinity where all sides of experience meet as one?

Only your deepest knowing may know the answer, while loving yourself more, not less, every step of the way.
