Many confuse heart-centeredness with having control over their heart. For many, when hearing of how open, detached, free-spirited, and in flow one becomes as their heart opens, the common misstep is to seek a way to control how the heart is expressed.

While it is true that an open heart creates greater openness, detachment, free-spirited joy, and an amplified flow of life inspired by the perfection of universal will, such experiences do not come to be as a result of trying to control the heart and how it functions within you. Instead of working so intensely on checking the boxes on a spiritual to-do list, the true intention of heart-centeredness is to make peace with however your heart ebbs and flows by recognizing each emotional pattern as a chance to love the parts of self crying out for attention throughout each emotional upheaval.

Rather than judge yourself for how misaligned with Source or off the spiritual path you must be, in order to get continually triggered, take things so personally, hold grudges even with those who have crossed over, or even project the past onto unrelated characters in the present, perhaps there is another reason why these patterns remain virtually unbreakable. What if you only feel stuck in the very patterns that help you unravel your inner perfectionist, instead of having more time and space to build a more dominant spiritual ego? What if the inability to ‘do it right’ is a cosmic set-up leading you to realize that you cannot do this path wrong in the eyes of Source? And, for those who read these words and think, “So the people who harmed me are doing this path right?,” it is the innocence of confusing an empath further along their path than the actions of those who have yet to truly begin the path you began traveling lifetimes ago. In truth, the path of a heart-centered empath is nothing like the path of surrender for those who avoid themselves through denial, self-centeredness, deceit, and greed. Therefore, one person's journey cannot be compared with another. And yet, such characters who have yet to begin their journey intersect with yours to help you further the path you are in the process of mastering. It's a path of mastery where your contribution to global peace, planetary oneness, and earthly ascension occurs simultaneously to the path of alchemy and transmutation unfolding at record speed within you — no matter how incredibly or ineptly you judge yourself throughout each milestone of expansion.

Most importantly, just because you don’t feel you check all the boxes of what it means to be unconditionally loving doesn’t mean you aren’t on the path of remembering the unconditional love always dwelling within you. Perhaps it's the time and energy so exhaustingly spent trying to figure out how to control your heart more to your liking that helps you act out in ways that confirms how not heart centered perhaps only you believe yourself to be. May these words assist you in unraveling and integrating any degree of inner perfectionism so your heart may become a safe space to explore, and not something you work hard to control.
