The Art of Letting Good Things In

Most of us are taught to give—advice, support, effort. But receiving? That’s an art we rarely practice. Radical receptivity means accepting compliments, help, or even new ideas without shrinking, deflecting, or rushing to reciprocate. It’s letting yourself feel worthy of kindness, generosity, and attention. Today, notice when you brush off something good someone offers—whether it’s praise, a helping hand, or a fresh perspective. Instead of pushing it away, take a breath and let it land. You might be surprised at how much lighter and more connected you feel when you simply receive.

Reflection:

When was the last time you fully accepted a compliment or allowed yourself to receive help without guilt? How did it feel?

Action for Today: 

The next time someone offers you something—a kind word, a new idea, some support—pause before responding. Practice saying “thank you” and letting yourself receive, without explanation or apology.

Affirmation:

"I am open to receiving goodness in all its forms. I welcome support, kindness, and new possibilities into my life."
