The other is you. We are one. This world is a dream of the ONE that we call Source, God, or Consciousness. The things that really matter and count as far as our soul’s experiences on earth are concerned are our relationship with ourselves and other people or what we call the world. Material possessions, accomplishments, and accolades are really not that important as far as the greater purpose of life is concerned.

The reason for this is that our souls are here to learn, experience, gather information, grow and remember our true nature which is LOVE or GOD/ SOURCE. In order to do this, we have to learn many lessons and transcend the veils and illusions of fear. And through this, we can uncover the truth of our being, which is love.

We are not here to learn how to love, because love is who we are at our core. We are here to release everything that is false: all the veils and illusions, which are products of fear. When the false is released, the LIGHT that we ARE can be unveiled and revealed because it is within.

The world is a dream of the ONE

We remember who we are through the lessons we learn in this earth school. That is through our interactions with ourselves and one another. Physical reality is really a simulation or game and is not real as far as our eternal Self is concerned. But it is very real as far as the physical characters we are playing are concerned because it’s the only way our souls can learn.

The person you are playing and think you are is a character and is not the real you. You have played many more characters. The character is almost like the one a gamer chooses to play in a video game. He or she helps you learn what your soul needs to learn as it interacts with other characters in the game.

Our interactions with other people are our greatest teachers. The other person is actually YOU from another perspective. This is not just theory but actual fact. Through our experiences with one another, we are learning about ourselves from different perspectives. When we choose to love, forgive, and have compassion we are mastering our lessons because we are truly seeing the other as ourselves and acting from our true nature. When we judge, hate, and fear, we are giving in to the falsehood and illusion of separation and further perpetuating the lie that we are separate. We, therefore, stay stuck in the game creating more falsehoods and suffering. Only Love heals the illusion.

Jesus on One-ness

One of the greatest passages I have ever read to illustrate this truth is from Jesus’s parable in Matthew 25. I will copy it below. Jesus very clearly in this parable illustrates that when we feed, clothe, visit or help another we are actually helping the Christ within who is our True nature. The drink you give to another you give to yourself. Any help you deny another you deny yourself.

for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; ³⁶ I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’³⁷ “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? ³⁸ When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? ³⁹ Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ ⁴⁰ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’… ⁴² for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; ⁴³ I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’⁴⁴ “Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ ⁴⁵ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ Jesus in Matthew 25

What you do to another you do to yourself

The implication of Jesus’s words is that when we harm another we harm ourselves. We then further immerse ourselves in the illusion of separation and suffering and project more pain onto ourselves and the world. When we love another we love ourselves and heal the illusion by remembering that we are all God. This is how we awaken.

We are ONE and the other is YOU. What you do to another you actually do to yourself. These are not figures of speech but actual truth. There is one dreamer experiencing this dream of life, and that is GOD. God or Source is playing every single part as individual souls, as trees, as animals, and as all things. We are therefore ONE and separation is a myth, albeit one the ego clings to for dear life.

I AM

Practically, how does this help you? Living this life to the fullest, and being the best version of ourselves, is only possible when we remember that we are one. Because what we do to another we do to ourselves, this truth helps us practice being loving and compassionate to all of creation as ourselves. And where we are not, to learn to extend forgiveness and mercy to ourselves and others, which are also acts of love. This is how we not only awaken from the illusion of separation but also make the world we are creating and living in a better one for ourselves and others. This is how we heal.

The purpose of this dream is to awaken from it, carrying with us the experiences gathered from all these different perspectives experienced by the ONE Consciousness.
