A Valentine’s Day Mission

I’ve been writing this weekly blog for more than twenty years and this morning, while searching my archives for an old story, I came across a blog I sent in 2011 with a Valentine’s Day idea from a reader, Karen.
As soon as I reread her suggestion, I decided to do it again this year and wanted to invite you to join me. Here’s the plan:
Remember the little packages of Valentines you used to get as a kid, the ones you’d fill out and bring to school? Today I’m going to pick up a few boxes. I’m going to write, “I hope something good happens to you today!” on each card, put the Valentine in an envelope, draw a heart on the outside, and distribute them when I’m out and about this week.
I’m off to the grocery store this afternoon and will probably leave a few on car windshields and maybe even in shopping carts when people aren’t looking. I’ll also slip a few into books at the local bookstore and drop some on tables in coffee shops. It’ll be fun looking for creative places to spread a little love.
If you can, please join me. If you can’t get out to buy Valentines, emails will do the trick, too. Have fun, and Happy Valentine’s Day to you and yours!
Love,
Cheryl
