Aries

There is a bit of anticipation and restlessness these days. And you will resent anyone or anything trying to hold you back. In fact you may find yourself rushing to get through your obligations and responsibilities just to be able to breathe and toss out the to-do lists. Mars is entering Sagittarius late Sunday, early Monday morning, and Aries is ready to be unleashed. Think of wild stallions racing through the fields, or Frodo the rebel hobbit about to embark on an Adventure into the unknown. Aries will already be packed and waiting at the door. As Venus slows for its retrograde station on the 19th you could find yourself reflecting on all those things that have brought you to this point in time, and made you the person you are now. But armed with the enthusiasm and courage of the Sagittarius Mars, leave all the regrettable parts behind, knowing that tomorrow is always another day and another opportunity for adventure. 

Taurus

There is an element of preoccupation when Venus is entangled with Pluto, as it is this month. It can even border on obsession, as certain issues will be focused on to the exclusion of all else. In some cases this will be of necessity. It may even feel like a matter of survival, compelling you to look at this one thing, and give it your full attention for now. For others it could feel like something is calling you, an urgent desire to move in a certain direction. Although this is not necessarily a time to be making major life changing decisions, it is important to pay attention to these callings, for they are trying to help you to put the pieces of your life together. Memories, experiences, will come to the foreground, leading you to realize what are the most important priorities in your life, and the things that you truly in your heart of hearts care about. 

Gemini

Gemini is ready for what lies ahead. They see the importance and sense of purpose and responsibility that is involved over the next few weeks, perhaps much longer than that, and they are ready to take it all on. This is about promises and commitments, and showing up when others are relying on you to be there. Now that Mercury is entering Capricorn, you have a seriousness of purpose, and you are ready to put your head down, and your shoulder to the wheel. Not much is likely to stand in your way. You are focused on your priorities: those people and those things that are most valuable and important to you, and you are not going to allow these to be jeopardized in any way. Use this period to focus on those priorities, tie up any loose ends, organize the troops, and be the one who shows up. 

Cancer

As Venus slows down for its retrograde station on the 19th, it’s going to be all entangled with complicated Pluto, unearthing all of our most critical wounds and exposing them to the world for all to see. And in the process, Cancer, like many of the other signs, are being asked to focus all of your attention and energy on one important issue, perhaps to the exclusion of all else. It seems unavoidable. And in the process you may wonder what you should have done, could have done. However much of that is meaningless right now. It’s time to slough off any old regrets and should haves that are no longer relevant for who you are now. Rather, focus in on what your current priorities are. And what, in your heart of hearts you truly desire and care about above all else. 

Leo

A part of you would probably wish to release your current responsibilities, and allow yourself to just drift, to just be for a few days, perhaps even a few weeks more. It will be hard to wrap your mind around everyday mundane tasks if they are devoid of meaning, and simply are not the foremost thing on your mind right now. Venus is slowing for its retrograde station on the 19th, and as it does so you will find your attention gravitating to the past, and reflecting on those people and things that have been most meaningful to you. There is a process here, and it will be difficult to resist. What you will be shown over the next several weeks, are those things and beings that are the most important to you. And how you can make these more of a priority in your everyday life. 

Virgo

Virgo takes their fun seriously, often because what they most enjoy doing is serious work. They like being useful, and having something productive to do with their lives. And now that your ruling planet Mercury is heading into Capricorn on Monday, you are going to be filled with this seriousness of purpose. Organized, prepared and ready, you come armed with platters of cookies as well as a ledger sheet and a pot of coffee. And there’s something else going on this week. As Venus slows for its retrograde station on the 19th, it’s going to be asking all of us to pay attention to our priorities, promises and commitments, even and especially when you are being tempted not to. Mercury in Capricorn is determined to keep you focused on what matters. And being very clear about what your true priorities are. 

Libra

As Venus slows for its retrograde station on the 19th, it will also be drawing you back and within. Down into the layers beneath your own psyche, and perhaps even on a long and winding path into the past. At first it may come in visions and glimpses. Things you had thought long forgotten will come up as momentary fragments. Some of these may be entangled with old wounds, and riddled with regrets. In some way you are being asked to confront these all. The good, the bad and even the painful, in order to untangle those threads, and rid yourself once and for all from old lingering tendrils that are still holding you back, and preventing you from walking purposefully and courageously into the future. Anyone or anything that made you feel any less than your full worth is being sloughed away. And as painful as it may be, this month’s transit of Venus to Pluto is ultimately making it known that you are free. 

Scorpio

You are being asked to have courage as you enter this week. Perhaps reluctantly so. But by the time Mars enters Sagittarius on Monday, there will be no denying that you have the courage to face down even the most ominous of challenges. That’s what happens when you have the strength of your own convictions on your side. Mars will be in Sagittarius through January 24th, which will serve you well through whatever setbacks or detours you may experience with the Venus and Mercury retrogrades coming up. Make sure your goals for the next few months are realizable and achievable, then use the fiery energy of the Mars in Sagittarius to follow through with your dreams. 

Sagittarius

Late Sunday, early Monday, Mars will enter your sign bringing you the energy, enthusiasm and conviction to move boldly ahead with any plans that may have been germinating behind the scenes. It may feel as if you are going to have to slap dashedly catch up with tying up any last minute loose ends. And do know that there are likely to be a few dodgy setbacks, unexpected costs and detours before all is said and done. But Mars in your sign is bound to serve you well, bringing you the optimistic fervor that your sign is so well known for, able to leap over any hurdles and follow through with your commitments, come what may. What you don’t want to do is to cut any corners. Even if it takes a little longer, it’s going to be about quality, not quantity, that will count in the end. 

Capricorn

Capricorn can be a stickler for rules and propriety. There is little patience for those who break their promises and don’t follow through with their commitments. But even play-by-the-rules Capricorn can be tempted to give in to their passions when Venus becomes hopelessly entangled with Pluto. So we all stand here with bated breath daring to see whether or not Capricorn is going to take the bait. Will they be swept up and give in to their passions? Or will they hold even more passionately to their oaths and promises, determined even more staunchly to do the right thing. As Venus slows for its retrograde station in your sign on the 19th, you are being asked to focus on those things that really matter to you in the end, and how you can make those an even stronger priority. 

Aquarius

As Venus stations for its retrograde station on the 19th, it is capable of digging up even the most well hidden secrets and scandals. Things that you had long forgotten will return to you in the dead of night. And some things that you never knew about can come to light in this weather. Know that the purpose of these denizens from the dark coming to light is not to taunt you, make you feel guilt or regret. You are being made aware of these so that you can slough them off, dig these wounds up at the root, and release them. As Pluto ekes its way though the last degrees of Capricorn, it will be headed to your sign, and you don’t need him bringing along any of that old baggage when he does. Release old regrets, and like Elsa in the movie Frozen, just Let it Go. 

Pisces

Time seems to have no validity these days, as Mercury and now the Sun square Neptune in your sign. Part of that is because despite the urgency to move forward into your future, you don’t really know what that future is fully going to look like, and whether or not it is going to reflect your true values and priorities. And with Venus slowing for its retrograde station on the 19th, those things that you truly value are going to be reexamined. And sometimes what compels us to confront what truly matters to us, is brought about due to a fear of losing that very thing that means so much to us. So, as you come to terms with the things and the people that are most meaningful to your heart of hearts, the next question is going to be, How can you make these even more of a priority going forward? How can you not ever, ever take these for granted?
