Weekly Planetary Energy Guide: April 7 to 13, 2025

Weekly Planetary Energy Guide: April 7 to 13, 2025

FULL MOON REVELATIONS: A Full Moon, when Luna shines her brightest in our night skies, is usually a time of heightened awareness, as well as intensified emotions.

These attributes are especially strong at the time of our next lunation, which peaks next Saturday, April 12, at 5:22 p.m. PDT. At that time, the Moon will be at 23°19' Libra, exactly opposite the Sun at the same degree of Aries.

This Full Moon carries greater significance for several reasons—firstly, because it is the climax of the lunar cycle that began with the Solar Eclipse on March 29. The intentions and purposes of that mega New Moon have been building and will be made evident by the reflected light of the Full Moon.

But the impact of next Saturday's lunation is defined even more powerfully by the Sun's alignment with Chiron and Eris, and the formation of both a cardinal T-square and a yod "finger of god" configuration. Let's take these one by one:

THE CHIRON-ERIS EFFECT: Chiron, the Wounded Healer, and Eris, the goddess of Discord, will be exactly aligned three times over the next 12 months: on May 26 and October 8 of this year, and on March 19, 2026. Although the first exact conjunction is still several weeks away, its influence has been building ever since Chiron went direct on December 29.

The two planetary objects will be within two degrees of each other at the time of this week's Full Moon, with the Sun only 19 arc minutes away from Chiron (at 23°19' Aries). This means that the energies of the Chiron-Eris alignment are strongly woven into the tapestry of the lunation. Both Chiron and Eris are known for revealing unpleasant truths and stirring deep emotions.

The last time Chiron and Eris aligned was in 1971-1972. Revelations during their conjunction included the publishing of the Pentagon Papers, which disclosed the true extent of US involvement in the Vietnam War. There was a court-martial of the US soldiers who had participated in the horrifying My Lai massacre. Five White House operatives were arrested, the beginning of what became the Watergate scandal. And public outcry led to the pesticide DDT being banned for its deadly effects on Bald Eagles, humans, and the environment.

All of these events were shocking and very painful at the time. They challenged our belief that our leaders, governments, and idols would never, could never, do such things. And yet, these disclosures were the necessary first step before healing (Chiron) and the righting of wrongs (Eris) could begin.

T-SQUARE: A cardinal T-square is formed at the time of the Full Moon: the Moon in Libra is opposite the Sun/Chiron/Eris stellium in Aries, and all four planets are square Mars in Cancer.

A T-square represents strong tension and friction, resulting in people being very reactive, excitable, and confrontational. These qualities are especially pronounced with warrior Mars positioned at the pivotal "apex" of the configuration. It will be tempting to be impatient, egotistical, headstrong, aggressive, and self-absorbed.

The lessons involved with this T-square include being self-aware and self-disciplined, having restraint and patience, and diffusing excess or aggressive energies through reasonable physical activity.

YOD: There is also a yod formed at the time of the lunation, with the Libra Moon in quincunx aspect to three planets in Pisces (Venus/Saturn/Mercury) and to Uranus in Taurus. This configuration indicates that we are at a fork in the road, a choice point.

The Moon at the apex of the yod requires that we become aware of ways in which we act out of habit, where we lack objectivity, where we are overly impressionable, and where we may feel vulnerable or even powerless. The lessons of this yod include becoming aware of unhealthy habitual emotional responses, clarifying our true needs and where we may need an attitude adjustment, and being willing to take purposeful action, if needed.

NEPTUNE-SEDNA: This week is also the first of five exact sextiles between mystical Neptune, god of the Oceans, and Sedna, goddess of the Seas and the planet of spiritual destiny. This influence may be subtle in its immediate effects; but as we work with it over the next two years, we have great opportunities for spiritual growth and to become more powerfully aligned with our soul's purpose.

This sextile also represents a gradual washing away of victim consciousness, helping us transcend the effects of long-term deceptions and mental abuse. This dissolving process opens the door for new levels of empowerment on a soul level, and helps us rise above ego-based power struggles.

ASPECTS THIS WEEK: Here are my brief interpretations of this week's most important planetary aspects, day by day:

Monday

Venus conjunct Saturn, Venus sextile Uranus: As we come to terms with the reality of a relationship or financial situation, we also find excitement in the possibilities that lie ahead, and are open to creative change.

Mercury stations direct: Mercury now begins to move forward in the sky, having completed its retrograde phase that began on March 14. As the Messenger Planet gradually picks up speed over the coming days, we have the opportunity to implement the insights that we gained during the review process of the past three weeks.

Thursday

Mercury conjunct North Node: The mind is imaginative and creative, and intuition is online. This a good time to capture insights and to dream, but our attention to details might not be strong.

Friday

Mars trine North Node: Our desires are in tune with our spiritual purpose and we are able to take action on our dreams.

Neptune sextile Sedna: Neptune and Sedna will be exactly sextile five times over the next two years: on April 11 and August 11, 2025, and on February 20, October 23, and December 23, 2026.

Saturday

Sun conjunct Chiron: We may become aware of old fears and insecurities that keep us from taking assertive action, or even from knowing what we truly want and need. This awareness is the first step on a path of healing that is greatly facilitated when we embrace the fearful aspect of our being as we would hold a small vulnerable child, with understanding and unconditional love.

Full Moon: The powerful Full Moon perfects at 5:22 p.m. PDT, when the Moon is at 23°19' Libra.

Sunday

IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: You have great opportunities this year to heal old wounds and insecurities that have limited your self-expression. Angers and frustrations may arise as indicators of ways in which you have not felt free to voice your personal needs and desires. These reactions are your key to opening a door to new levels of self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-care. (Solar Return Sun square Mars, conjunct Chiron, conjunct Eris)

In peace, love, and gratitude,

Pam
