The Mind of a Toddler

The Mind of a Toddler

Q: Hi Lynn,

I had a question regarding babies/toddlers. I am curious as how their mind/personality works. I always hear that babies and toddlers are super intuitive.

I get confused though because they throw tantrums and such. I would like if you can dig a little deeper on how the babies/toddlers brain works. before they reach the age of 5?

Hopefully my question makes sense. Thank you so much!

A: Babies and toddlers are so naïve and pure they do have the ability of sense and experience all the world around them.  They don't have preconceived notions or a rational mind kicking in to tell  them what they see or sense isn't real or that it is imaginary.  They simply experience what is in the present moment without bias.

The communication barrier actually helps this.  A toddler may say "mamaw" but doesn't not have the concept that mamaw may have passed away.  They just see mamaw and begin talking or mumbling to her. They run on intuition and feelings because at that age that is what makes sense.  As the development of the mind and fine motor skills enhancing communication grow, their understanding of concepts also grow.  The naïve concepts evolve into a very rational conscious mind way of thinking.

Tantrums come from them needing something that they haven't learned how to express.  Most times they are hungry, tired, uncomfortable, bored or not feeling well.  Since their verbal abilities aren't strong and they haven't developed the ability to self-analyze what they always need, they get frustrated.  This doesn't take away from how they see and experience the world.  It is just a growing pain of being incarnated in the 3D as a physical being and they have to learn.  If people could see the world as a toddler and communicate effectively to them through intuitive means, toddlers may stay like toddlers for a long time- They wouldn't have a need to evolve in communication or thought processes.

Very interesting topic!  Thanks for the suggestion!  Love and light, Lynn
