Humanity now faces the fifth cosmic mystery: confronting the shadow within and without ~Crystal Wind

In Western esotericism, life and nature unfold according to distinct patterns that can be understood through number. We may begin with Genesis, where the mystery of number and life appears as a foundational key to creation. The “Seven Days of Creation” do not describe the formation of the Earth in seven literal days. Rather, they point to vast cycles of time, or “cosmic days,” through which both the Earth and humanity passed through successive phases of transformation.

In Eastern esotericism, a similar account appears. These same cycles, which are objective and not exclusive to any culture, are said to be initiated by the breath of Brahma, the movement of air across the waters of primordial substance, known as the Mula Prakriti. To the Eastern initiate these phases, or cosmic days, are called manvantaras.

The Seven Cosmic Mysteries

When we examine creation in this way, we see that both humanity and the Earth undergo a process of metamorphosis expressed through seven distinct stages. The first day, or the first mystery, is the mystery of birth, often associated with the Moon and the earliest stages of human existence. The second mystery relates to suffering, the third to sacrifice, and the fourth to the development of the human heart, which gives rise to love.

These 4 stages are already familiar to humanity and the progression of life through the seven total mysteries is held in the 7 energy centers of the spiritual body, or chakras. These correspond further with 7 cosmic centers of the earth/cosmos, or the seven holy planetary spheres of archangelic activity.

Humanity Enters the Mystery of Evil

We now stand within the fifth mystery which is the mystery of evil. Here each individual must confront the shadow within themselves. During this period we must wash ourselves of sin, or purify the waters of our soul, or astral body. In more familiar terms, this includes healing unresolved trauma, recognizing the false self, or overcoming the soul's karmic burden. These lower urges associated with sin are more consciously resolved through the examination of the moon and its unusual effect on the human psyche.

Yet this stage is not only personal. It extends to humanity as a whole, requiring a collective confrontation with evil as it manifests in the world. It calls for the courage to recognize corruption, to challenge destructive systems, and ultimately to clarify and redeem what has been deformed by selfishness.

The Final Two Mysteries Await

Two further mysteries remain, two final cycles of creation are ahead of us! Yet no one can pass through them without first facing the reality of evil within both the self and the world. The sixth is the mystery of death, here the number 666 reaches its resolution through humanity.

The seventh, and perhaps the most sublime of all mysteries represents the ultimate destiny of the human being. It is the mystery of resurrection. This final mystery concerns the realization of eternal life and the ultimate overcoming of death. Here we see the potential ceasing of reincarnation, the triumph over the wheel of Samsara and the final transmutation of matter.
