In Astrology someone said history does not repeat itself but it rhymes. I would say sometimes it ECHOES LOUDLY. We are at that time with our current Leo/Aquarius Moon cycle. In 2002 we had a 01 degree Aquarius Full Moon on July 24, a 16 degree Leo New Moon on Aug 08, and a 29 degree Aquarius Blue Full Moon on Aug 22. Our current Moons are within minutes of exact. What hopes, wishes, and dreams were you creating at that time? Are they still speaking to your heart? Maybe you had to put your creative passion on the backburner. Maybe it is time to recreate that new vision. This Leo New Moon is offering us all the strength and courage to create that new vision guided by our heart wisdom. It is also occurring on 8/8 considered spiritually to be the Lions Gate, the courage and strength to shine your special light into the world.

At each New Moon we draw up the birth chart for the new cycle. The planets are talking to each other. Some conversations are easy and flowing. Others are challenging and require a change in focus. This Lunation is guided by the Sun in Leo, being heart centered or ego driven.

Mercury at 23 degrees Leo (our thoughts and creation energy) is travelling with the Sun/Moon at 16 degrees Leo. Here is the first challenge. Mercury is in a YOD formation (finger of fate or destiny) with Pluto Rx at 25 degrees Capricorn (releasing structures that no longer support us) and Neptune Rx at 22 degrees Pisces (breaking free from illusion). Both these planets are retrograde asking us to revise and realign our focus. The release point is Aquarius, vision for a new future of unity. The mid-point between the astrological Earth and Jupiter Rx is 22 degrees Aquarius, expansion and growth of the vision for a New Earth. This doorway will be very active Sept to Nov when Jupiter will be at 22 degrees Aquarius. He will be retrograde until Oct 18 giving us the opportunity to realign our vision and then move forward.

An easy conversation is the Sun/Moon trine (removal of obstacles) Chiron Rx at 12 degrees Aries (healing the wounds of rejection and abandonment). Chiron also guides us to finding solutions to whatever is challenging us. New beginnings. Chiron is also sextile (new opportunities) the North Node at 08 degrees Gemini and trine (ease and flow) the Asteroid Juno and the South Node at 08 degrees Sagittarius (healing relationship conflict from the past and letting go with love). But here is another challenge. Mars at 06 degrees Virgo is travelling with Hygeia, Goddess of health and healing (healing and releasing anger issues) and they are in a T Square (finding new ways of doing things) the South Node/Juno (releasing the past) and the North Node (moving into the new). The release point is Pisces (forgiveness and release).

There are more conversations happening. Uranus at 14 degrees Taurus (breaking through to what is of true value) is challenging the Sun/Moon in Leo (releasing the ego need to be in control and opening the heart). He is still in the energy of his ongoing square with Saturn (creating a new foundation) and Saturn is opposite the New Moon (finding inner balance). Now here comes Venus at 20 degrees Virgo (healing into wholeness). She is opposite Neptune Rx in Pisces (healing wounds of separation and isolation). Remember Neptune is part of the YOD that Mercury activates (new ways of thinking). Venus (love and harmony) is trined (removal of obstacles) by Uranus in Taurus (breakthrough) and she is trine (ease and flow) Pluto in Capricorn (transformation and rebirth).

The final conversation is activated by Vesta at 08 degrees Libra (inner balance and commitment to our spiritual path). She is sextile (new opportunities) Juno and the South Node in Sagittarius (being true to your spiritual vision) and trine (removal of obstacles) the North Node at 08 degrees Gemini (creating your new path). She is also trine Saturn at 09 degrees Aquarius (strengthening the foundation for a new way of being). As always the Universe challenges us but opens new doorways for us to walk through.

Our Animal Totem guide for this Leo New Moon is Salmon, courage and determination to create the new. For the planets in Aquarius it is Otter, companionship and sharing. They are reversed for the Southern Hemisphere. The Clan Mother who guides us all is She Who Heals. Although this Leo New Moon cycle takes us until the Virgo New Moon of Sept 06/07 we have a very powerful Aquarius Full Moon on Aug 22. It is the Blue Moon of Transformation asking us to heal and release whatever blocks us from being our true selves. That same day after the Full Moon the Moon enters Pisces (healing and forgiveness) and the Sun enters Virgo (healing into wholeness). We will share more as we approach closer to that Full Moon.
