Today has been a very unusual day. A day of remarkable distraction. Not distraction in the usual sense of the word. Perhaps “seduction” would be a better word.
No matter what task I attempted, nothing could engage my attention for more than a few moments. Even my most enjoyable passion of gardening felt like a distraction.
Instead, I found myself seduced by my rocking chair with an invitation to take a seat, get comfortable, and allow myself to drift into the silence.
This wasn’t your typical silence that feels like the void. This was a palpable silence. A sentient silence. A living breathing silence. A field of consciousness. The consciousness that exists before thought, before action, before creation.
Even my attempt to describe this experience is a distraction. So I offer you an invitation to get comfortable in your favorite chair, take a deep breath, and allow yourself to be seduced into the Silence. The field of consciousness where creation conjures its very first notes that resonate with the song your soul.
