Ultimate Humility
Written by Hope Fitzgerald
Greetings, Luminous One!
Here we are nearly at the August 1st Irish Celtic celebration called "Lughnasadh," when the Sun God, Lugh, was honored for bringing the light to create the first wheat harvest of the year.
At daybreak, the wheat was gathered so that by evening, the new grain could be shared as bread for the entire village. A joyful feast of gratitude for the harvest would ensue.
A similar Anglo version known as Lammas (or Loaf Mass) arose later. To learn more about these mythologies, click HERE.
It's easy to forget in our modern world that we're still at the mercy of the Sun. In the simple but powerful tradition of Lughnasadh, we are reminded of our place in the order of things.
And, isn't this the ultimate Humility? To fully grasp how dependent we are on the many natural (and supernatural) forces that are far larger than we are?
When we stand in recognition of that, we regain a sense of our vulnerability and smallness in the grand scheme of things.
And yet, that's not the entire story, either, for we are powerful as well.
As our unseen guides have told us again and again, we must not underestimate the impact we make, not just on our own existence, but speaking in quantum terms, on the Cosmos itself.
"We are stardust...
We are golden...
And we've got to get ourselves
back to the garden."
Simple acts of kindness bring us back to the garden of Gaia, the garden of Humanity, and the garden of partnering with Divinity on Earth...
We're here to work hand-in-hand with Source
in service to others.
It is in this recognition that we can't help but remain in a perpetually Humble state.
With the great privilege that it is to be alive here and now, comes the great responsibility to evolve ourselves and by extension, the entire story through Humble, simple acts.
We may be small, but we are mighty!
Have a beautiful week!
Much love and infinite blessings,
Hope
