Almost every one of us has been affected by cancer, either directly or through a close friend or relative. Although in some cases, cancer patients go into remission after being treated with conventional therapies, often the treatment itself causes as many unpleasant symptoms and secondary disease as cancer itself. Unknown to most people, there are many alternative cancer treatments that show promising results in both the treatment and prevention of multiple cancers, and many do so without any long-term harmful effects on the body. Alternative cancer therapies are also available at a fraction of the cost of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. However, it is important to exercise caution before embarking on any kind of cancer treatment and investigate with loved ones and trusted professionals which modalities to use in each patient’s case.

Gerson Therapy

Gerson Therapy was developed in 1927 by physician Max Gerson and is a non-toxic method of treating cancer, tuberculosis, lyme disease, migraines and other degenerative diseases. The therapy revolves around following a strict vegetarian diet and, drinking lots of freshly juiced vegetables, as well organic juice; taking vitamin and enzyme supplements, and receiving enemas of coffee, castor oil, and even hydrogen peroxide. The treatment works by activating the body’s natural ability to heal itself through detoxification, and floods the body with vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that eliminate diseases from within. Gerson therapy has become known in particular for its coffee enemas that help cleanse the liver and remove toxins from the digestive system. Unfortunately, the conventional medical system, including the FDA insists that there has not been enough research performed on the effects of Gerson Therapy to fully establish whether or not it actually works; and, the treatment has been the subject of much controversy regarding its safety. The coffee enemas in particular were found to cause certain concomitant health problems in some patients; however, in others, cancers were seen to disappear almost miraculously.

Vegan Diet

Many studies have concluded that following a plant based diet can have tremendous effects on our health and wellbeing, and a recent study by Loma Linda University has found that women who follow a vegan diet have a 34% lower rate of female specific cancers such as breast, ovarian, and cervical. Researchers found that blood taken from women who had been following a plant based diet for just two weeks was able to slow the growth of cancer cells in three different types of breast cancer. This is due to the fact that consuming animal protein increases the level of a growth hormone found naturally in our bodies known as IGF-1 which promotes the growth of cancer cells in the body. Another study by Nobel Prize winner Elizabeth Blackburn found that a vegan diet actually turns on certain genes in the body that help prevent disease, and turns off those that cause serious diseases such as cancer.

Liposomal Vitamin C

Liposomal Vitamin C treatment involves giving high doses of vitamin C to cancer patients and others suffering from a wide range of serious illnesses. The vitamin C is delivered inside by way of liposomes, tiny encapsulated drops made from the same material as the coating on our cell walls. Once inside the body the liposomes attach to the outside of the cell wall and release their vitamin C immediately into the cells.  Studies have shown that administering vitamin C through liposomal methods means that up to 90% of the nutrients inside the encapsulations will be absorbed by the cells. There has been a great deal of research conducted on the healing power of vitamin C, and it has been used throughout history to cure everything from polio to high blood pressure. Vitamin C can be taken orally, intravenously, or in the form of liposomes, and most studies performed indicate that liposomal delivery has the greatest effect on treating cancer.

Bicarbonate Of Soda

Italian physician Dr Tullio Simoncini received a huge amount of attention recently after announcing that he had found a way to cure cancer using regular household baking soda. He claimed that he had discovered that cancer is caused by a type of yeast infection known as Candida albicans, and that regularly ingesting bicarbonate of soda killed the infection by helping to create an alkaline environment — creating a state where cancer cells are unable to exist. Although Dr Simoncini writes in his book that he has healed many patients using the treatment, more research is needed to verify his claims. Ingesting small quantities of baking soda is perfectly safe for most people and is even used as a home remedy for heartburn; however those with high blood pressure or chronic illness should seek medical advice before starting this type of treatment.

Cannabis Oil

Cannabis has been used as a powerful medicine for centuries, and many patients with chronic pain regularly smoke it to relieve their symptoms. Cannabis oil as a cancer treatment found fame after the release of a documentary made by former cancer patient Rick Simpson entitled ‘Run from the Cure’. The documentary claims that by extracting pure cannabis oil from the marijuana plant and ingesting it orally, patients can cure themselves of even advanced cases of cancer. A study performed in Spain at Madrid’s Complutense University found that THC, a substance found naturally in cannabis, can cause programmed cell death in brain tumour cells, and researchers were able to eradicate brain tumours in rats using THC. There have been a wide number of studies that have found that cannabis is hugely effective at treating cancer, but all studies found that THC is most effective when injected or taken internally rather than smoked.

Cancer is currently a multimillion dollar industry that has not managed to make any major breakthroughs in the last decade when it comes to treating patients. Perhaps that is the result of its being dominated by Big Pharma and a consortium of individuals and companies that are not intent on finding a cure, rather than keeping people sick in an effort to keep them coming back for more expensive and dangerous mecial treatments. The current cancer treatments offered by the medical industry are expensive and outdated, and cause debilitating side effects and in many cases, death. Millions of dollars are donated to cancer research every year, but researchers have yet to come up with an effective, nontoxic cancer treatment. It is important to fully research all forms of cancer treatments that are available before choosing the one that is right for you, and many alternative treatments can be used alongside the traditional options. Our bodies contain everything we need to heal ourselves from every possible disease, but hectic lifestyles, poor diet, high levels of stress, and our faulty medical system have repressed our natural ability to heal. Alternative treatments derived from nature can give a welcome boost to your weakened immune systems, and can do so without any long-term harmful effects on the body.
