Meditation for the New Moon in Scorpio

Meditation for the New Moon in Scorpio

Affirmations for the energy of the New Moon in Scorpio

  • I look within, to hidden depths, to discover the source of my greatest strength.
  • I improve myself and all around me through a profound understanding of life's inner workings.
  • I release what is ready to pass away, and embrace improvements waiting to become part of my world.
  • I understand that a large part of resourcefulness is the wisdom to act on the right opportunities.
  • I gratefully release what is no longer part of me, and in doing so, I am born anew.

Creative Visualization

You are walking at twilight through a surreal landscape of gray shadows and black cliffs, on a path defined mostly by luminous white sand that glows as the light fades. This place has a strange "other-worldly" feel to it, and coming here at all may be an exercise in determination and courage. Yet you feel drawn here by a compelling, irresistible inner message, which you recognize as the unmistakable voice of your intuition.

Before long you come to a cave whose entrance yawns before you, beckoning, like a dark, mysterious secret. You've been told there is both treasure and danger in this cave ... and you came along this path tonight specifically to find this place and to explore -- and experience -- whatever it holds inside. Previous explorers here tell exciting and harrowing tales of having been changed forever by what they learned here, what they discovered inside ... and after long, careful consideration, you've decided this is something you want to see and do for yourself.

You've brought a flashlight with plenty of extra batteries -- and are you ever glad you did!! Entering the cave, you find its interior extremely dark. Not even the fading light from outside penetrates the interior very far. Switching on your flashlight, you see shiny veins of minerals -- clearly gold and silver -- lining the walls and ceiling. Holds and pits where pieces were chipped out by tools occasionally testify that previous travelers "found what they were looking for" ... or lost their nerve and grabbed whatever they could find easily to take with them when they left.

But your intuition says that what you have to find here is not to be gouged out of the walls in the first ten feet of your journey. What you are seeking lies much deeper inside the cavern ... and you will know it with a clear shock of recognition when you see it.

The path winds deep into the cave, on a constant downward slope. While it's not especially dangerous to walk here, you do have to pay attention, follow the beam of your flashlight, and watch where you are going. Each step takes you deeper into the cool interior ... and behind you, the last light visible from the entrance has virtually faded away, almost indistinguishable now as night falls over the land beneath a moonless sky.

Other tunnels lead off from this main entrance, offering loads of options and possibilities for your exploration. If you take one of these to find your treasure, be sure to keep your wits about you. You, your own legs, your light, your mind, and your own resourcefulness are all the tools you have to find your way back out again. And yet, they are all you need ... and, in a way, all you ever have.

Following your instinct, you move deeper and deeper into the cave until finally, you see what you've been seeking. It's sitting right in front of you on the path, and just as predicted, when you see it, it's like reuniting with a long-lost, but precious friend. This treasure is a rock crystal, multi-faceted, complex, and breathtakingly beautiful in the light you shine on it. Rainbows flash across the cave walls as your light plays over it, and when your light moves away, the crystal retains some of that energy for a few seconds ... and glows enchantingly with new possibility and power.

When you pick it up to take it back outside with you, its glow increases a hundredfold, lighting your hands, your face, the interior of the cave ... so much you no longer need the flashlight. In fact, the flashlight is just an extra piece of baggage now. You may even choose to leave it behind and light your way back to the entrance with your crystal ... and your own transformed power.

But as you hold the crystal, you discover some of its magical properties ... a small portion of the reason you were led here to discover it. You'll undoubtedly find even more in the days ahead as you become reacquainted with this fabulous gift ... but right now, let's describe some of the immediate things you receive from contact with this crystal.

First, in your mind's eye, you see a map of the cave structure itself ... and the path you've traveled is outlined perfectly so that just by "following your nose" you can find your way out again safely, no matter how winding the road you traveled to get here. (Let's call it your own intellectual "Onstar System.") If you want to stay here and explore the cave further in the company of your crystal, more will be revealed to you. Who knows what you will eventually find!! And you will be able to find your way out again as confidently as if you'd lived here all your life.

Holding your crystal, you can ask silent questions in your imagination, and gradually, a drama will form on the "movie-screen of your mind" ... containing the answers you've asked to have. Sometimes the dramas speak in symbols. Sometimes they're crystal clear. Sometimes the answers come in fragments, like puzzle pieces you have to fit together. But they always speak the truth.

Holding your crystal, you can request the company of any person you want to talk to ... living or dead, real or fictional, known to you personally or known only "in spirit." More precisely, their Higher Self will make contact with your Higher Self, and the exchange of knowledge, energy, and emotion between you can be enlightening beyond words. You can ask questions, share what you know ... and gain the power of alliance in ways you never imagined before.

With extraordinary reverence and delight, you either explore the cave further or leave the way you came ... moving back to "the real world" and your place in it, in possession of this new treasure, ally, and companion ... planning ways to work with it in the future, knowing it is your key ... your doorway ... to indescribable transformation.

Coming Down to Earth

Although you can certainly continue to work with your crystal "in imagination" ... set an intention to find and obtain such a crystal "in real life." Don't pass up an opportunity to "go rock hunting" ... either out in Nature, in a "rock shop," or at a gem and mineral show. Trust that you'll know your crystal when you see it. (If you already have or work with crystals as part of your spiritual practice, make arrangements to recharge them under the energy of the New Moon in Scorpio, the Full Moon in Scorpio ... and again, for intuitive development, during the time of Pisces.)

Use your crystals in meditation. Explore some of the possibilities mentioned here. Invite ... and devise ... new applications of your own. Keep an open mind. Listen to the suggestions of your intuition. Accept that through this work, you will greet each new day different, more powerful, more informed, and wiser than you were "yesterday." Keep written notes of what you learn and experience ... and re-read them from time to time to gain new insights, just as you learn (and see!!) new things every time you re-read a book, or watch a movie over again.

At the end of each meditation session with your crystal, make a wish. Speak sincerely and from the heart. Ask to be shown the way to "make it happen" ... and accept that you have set this magic in motion. The power you seek is within you. Be still ... and experience what this means.
