Inflection Points

Branches berth butterflies in canopies on high,

salt licks fae with sweet toothed brine;

Suns pirouette tips of wildebeest nose hairs

as bees cough diamonds out of thin air;

Naked plums burst into aurorae only bats behold,

while slumbering slugs snore contralto sotto, sotto;

Leas mouth hieroglyph—

turtledoves are spellbound;

Moonbeams feast bog slurry

they share with the mountains;

Whale tongue is the global exchange

schist and feldspar speak freely;

Salmon gyre intracoastal currents

as bees churn pentameter;

Southerlies tickle milky ivories

of frizzled baby elephants—

zebras lend black and white chording

to tides of delight washing the lands;

Skies beam iridescence,

streams decant elixirs wind wands stir;

Cacti cartwheel at the stroke of midnight, height

of noon, as continents remember union;

Songbirds gather cumulonimbus clouds

and glacial erratics, old, old friends;

Mosses grow 300 times their normal size

as boreal saplings whisper lullabies;

Dormice hibernate dewdrops

for new wine

whilst gaggles of snowflakes leap

from stratospheric soup pots;

Time lapses its forward into

the still stillness of centers—

its lemonade stand closed

for the season

of light.

What's the point?

No point,

that's

the

point.
