Venus leaves its home sign of Taurus at 5:34 pm PDT on June 22 and enters delightfully curious Gemini, where it stays until it enters Cancer on July 17. What does Venus’ passage through Gemini hold for all of us?

In May, we had the dynamic “ready, fire, aim” impulsive genuineness of Venus in Aries, which gave way these past 4 weeks to its naturally enjoyable, reliable, steady and pleasant qualities in Taurus. Venus in Taurus is as self-motivated as Venus in Aries while having a whole lot more fun enjoying the ride! While Venus in Pisces feels everything there is to feel, and Venus in Aries feels only what is immediate and passing, leaping forward into relationships and is quick to like and equally quick to “unlike” things, Venus in Taurus savors each moment.

Venus in Taurus likes what it likes and is not particularly inclined to try new things unless they’re easy and pleasant. While Venus in Aries is highly agitated, Venus in Taurus likes comfort and ease. While Venus in Aries is “built for speed,” Venus in Taurus is “built for comfort.” Now we get a newer, more curious, playful, open and adaptable approach to our likes, loves, and fancies as Venus prepares to transit Gemini.

I have found that Venus in Gemini gives a “love of learning,” a love of exploring all the ideas there are to explore which capture the imagination. It is good with words and ideas, constantly solving the infinite puzzles of information and how to put it together. It should bring more flexibility and adaptability than Venus in Taurus, which has been “stead as she goes.” Welcome new ways of valuing and weighing different views, and see how new discoveries are pulling you into new likes and loves.

Venus entering Gemini marks a shift in the energy of planets and houses we have in Taurus and Libra. Gemini opens an exploration of all we stabilized with Venus in Taurus related to any planets or houses we have in Taurus or Libra. So look at it as we’ve now stabilized and confirmed new Venusian likes, values, perspectives, and social promise, and get to embrace “the romance of learning” all there is to learn about what we value and why.

We’ve already experienced this year’s Gemini energies via the Sun and Mercury. This opens a new era of discovery related to what’s begun, and will activate in dynamic ways during the time Mars transits Gemini between late August 2022 and late March 2023. What we activate, rework, and resume during the months Mars is in Gemini will open doors of opportunity in 2024-2025 when Jupiter moves through Gemini. Use the next few weeks to find a new value and/or appreciation for the new discoveries already in progress.

So welcome to the gateway to a new Venusian experience which will lead us to a reoriented social view once it enters Cancer on July 17. As our Venus response evolves, we have the capability to enjoy the subtle pleasures in life to the fullest. No longer over-indulgent or self-denying, we can choose what to like and find a rich appreciation for the banquet of life experiences which are ours for the enjoying!

Venus’ duality is Wisdom/Folly. By our Venus responses, we are led out of erroneous values, vanities, and ways of interacting into the wisdom of “Right Relationship.” As Venus is said to be the elder sister of the Earth, perhaps our Venus shows us how to refine what is of value and leave the superficial and vain imaginings of the ego behind, just as humanity is learning globally at this time in history. Venus is definitely part of the equation in our personal and interpersonal happiness.
