We have an amazing lineup in the eastern sky just before sunrise!

Right now, because the Moon is in Capricorn and conjunct both Mars and Venus leading the Sun, around 6 am (before sunrise) if you look at the eastern sky you will see Venus just above the horizon, Mars just above Venus, and the Balsamic Moon just above Mars.

This show will continue for the next two days as the Moon continues through Capricorn en route to the New Moon in Aquarius on Monday. As it conjuncts Venus and Mars, the morning of the 30th will have the Moon lowest on the horizon, with Mars above it and Venus the topmost of the three lights.

Though the Moon will disappear under the beams of the Sun between Jan 31 and Feb 2, as we get into February we’ll still have Venus and Mars rising in the pre-dawn eastern sky getting closer and closer together, with Mercury just above the horizon, so we’ll still get three morning lights for a while!
