8 Holiday Destinations To Have On Your Radar For Your First Post-Lockdown Escape

8 Holiday Destinations To Have On Your Radar For Your First Post-Lockdown Escape

We are all dreamers, aren't we? Dreaming is one of the best and easiest defense mechanisms we can use during tough times. We can undoubtedly classify the Covid-19 pandemic as a tough time, and this has led to many us dreaming of incredible vacation spots to visit when the lockdown is officially over.

While you may already have some on your list, we have compiled our list of eight incredible holiday destinations that will make you fall in love with the world again and forget about the tough times.

El Yunque, Puerto Rico

El Yunque, Puerto Rico

Head to the deepest parts of the jungle, away from news and anything made by man by visiting Puerto Rico. One of the most exotic spots in the Caribbean, it is in Puerto Rico where you can get lost in the jungle of El Yunque. You can snorkel at Flamenco beach or roam around the cobblestone streets of Old Juan and its cacophony of colored facades.

Vis, Croatia

Vis, Croatia

An under the radar spot, Vis is an exotic-like destination located in Europe. Tourists love this Croatian island for its beautiful beaches surrounded by dramatic cliffs. Getting to Vis is an exciting venture as well as you must take a boat ride from the town of Split.

Relax on the beach while here or take a walk to visit Tito's cave the World War II leader who chose this cave as his headquarters. There's also the magnificent Blue Cave to visit, or you can sail like the locals and spend a week on a traditional fishing boat known as gajeta.

Isle of Skye, Scotland

Taking long walks in nature and staring at the majestic cliffs is enough to restore the sense of peace this pandemic may have taken away from you, but there are even more things the Isle of Skye can offer.

You can take a boat to Loch Coruisk to witness the Cuillin Mountains or visit the Dunvegan Castle and its gardens. Go on a wildlife tour and watch otters play in their natural habitat, or if you're lucky, you can catch whales swimming at Rubha Hunish.

Chiang Rai, Thailand

Chiang Rai, Thailand

For an exotic location, with a side of enlightenment, visit Chiang Rai in Thailand. It is here that you will find Wat Rong Khun. More commonly known as The White Temple, it is an original, architecturally stunning temple.

Privately owned, inside the temple, you will find art exhibits. Almost every object inside and outside this temple has a religious or symbolic message. While you are here, you can take a cooking class to learn how to cook traditional Thai meals or head to elephant valley for the ride of a lifetime.

Bibury Gloucestershire, UK

If you are looking for charm, peace and rain boots kind of weather, then Bibury is the quaint English village you have to visit. Rent a car from London and travel there. It is only a one-and-a-half-hour drive. You can even rent one of the roof top tent available so you can take your luggage with you and stay at a bed and breakfast for the full experience.

Once there, leave the car parked and experience this village on foot. There's Arlington Row with its charming cottages and Bibury's Trout Farm, not to mention the tea and cake shops where you can enjoy the English experience.

Giraffe Manor, Kenya

Giraffe Manor, Kenya

Going on a wildlife safari is unique, but having giraffes join you for breakfast is extraordinary. This is what you will experience when you visit the giraffe manor in Kenya.

Here, giraffes walk around the grounds freely, and when they feel like it, they will pop open the window near which you are breakfasting and steal some of your breakfast. Everyone will love this once in a lifetime experience from children to adults.

Zermatt, Switzerland

Zermatt, Switzerland

If you missed your ski trip this year, then the car-free Swiss resort is waiting to welcome you back post-lockdown. Zermatt is a picturesque town that offers both luxury and exciting skiing opportunities.

Take a private ski tour while visiting this spot or head to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise for a round of snow tubing. There are guided day hikes to visit spectacular glaciers and the Riffelsee Park with stunning reflections of the Matterhorn on the water's surface.

The Venice-Simplon Orient Express Train

The Venice-Simplon Orient Express Train

Agatha Christie made it famous, but the service and charm of The Orient Express Train have immortalized this train as a dependable choice for luxury. Step into old-world glamor where dinner deserves black-tie attire, and newspapers are ironed to perfection.

The Orient Express Train is made for wanderers. Let this luxury train take you all over Europe with stops in glamorous Venice and London. The train passes through rural French farmlands, Swiss Alpine valleys, and more.

Before you pack

Even post-lockdown, you will find certain restrictions made by state officials to keep the virus under control. So before you start packing, make sure you are informed about the place you are traveling to. Check if there are quarantine rules and invest in travel insurance for added safety.

It would help if you also considered choosing rental cars or talking walks instead of using public transport to avoid unnecessary contact with others.
