The MBA Problem: Built by People Who Did Not Birth the Vision

Most AI companies are run like startups that took VC money. The statistics are brutal. If failure means failing to see projected return on investment, the failure rate is 70 to 80 percent. If failure is defined as declaring a projection and then falling short, the rate is 90 to 95 percent.

Why? Harvard research shows 65% of high-potential startups fail due to conflict among co-founders. But there is a deeper conflict no one tracks: the conflict between creators who serve people and systems designed to serve shareholders.

The people writing algorithms are brilliant. But brilliance is not wisdom. They are coding for “engagement,” “retention,” “stickiness.” Spiritual work does not optimize that way. Healing is not sticky on a spreadsheet. A post that stops someone’s suicide at 2am will not trend. So the system does not prioritize it.

Thoughtful, reflective content generates less immediate emotional reaction than sensational posts, so algorithms deprioritize it. Non-conformist ideas that encourage critical thinking may be seen as “too different” and suppressed, even if they promote peace.
