Life-Altering Travel Experiences for Your Next Adventure

Life-Altering Travel Experiences for Your Next Adventure

Sometimes we’ll book a spa weekend with our spouse to get away from the city noise and rekindle our love for one another. On other occasions, travelers find inspiration in a postcard, or they simply come across a tempting offer at a travel agency. We often don’t even need that much convincing to look for the most convenient suitcase and start looking for accommodation in the most affordable destination we care to visit. Some places, however, deserve a special mention as worthy of your bucket list, as life-altering, purpose-shifting experiences that can never be found elsewhere.

This is one such list. A sample must-see of corners of our humble planet that hide spiritual exaltation, as well as incredible adventures you should treat yourself to in order to gain a new appreciation of what our world has to offer. No matter if you’re looking for a nature escape or a history lesson, here’s a list of several worthy spots you should add to your itinerary and enrich your life beyond your wildest dreams.

Step back in time in Egypt

Step back in time in Egypt

The bustling streets of Cairo, the stunning Egyptian beaches, and the numerous museums brimming with historic artefacts are some of the most extraordinary things you can add to your list. However, among those many exciting experiences available in Egypt, one particular adventure stands out as the greatest challenge and the most life-altering, mind-boggling endeavor you need to attempt: climb inside the pyramids. These marvelous giants are certainly impressive enough even when observed from a distance, while standing outside, but venturing inside is a unique feat.

Make sure to learn about less crowded days and less popular pyramids – and luckily, there are around a hundred of them in Egypt, so you can truly find a few that aren’t filled with lines of eager tourists waiting to enter. Once you’re there, the narrow corridors, the steep steps, and the meandering hallways completely clad in stone will give you an opportunity to walk the same historic trails as ancient Egyptians.

World wonder in Arizona

As terrifying as it may seem to challenge yourself to tread the claustrophobic paths of ancient Egyptians, the vastness of the open sky can pose a similarly grandiose endeavor for you. Imagine soaring above the majestic, rust-colored behemoths of the Arizona desert. As millions of years of our planet’s evolution unravel before your eyes and beneath your feet, you will undoubtedly attain a new appreciation of the sheer beauty of our world.

One of the most remarkable ways to do just that is to take one of many fantastic helicopter tours above the Grand Canyon, giving you a glimpse into its bronze titans and the millions of years carved into its core. It’s an immersive experience that will provide you with a unique vantage point to absorb the enormity of Mother Nature’s wealth and unsurpassed creativity. Suddenly, you’ll find yourself feeling grateful for your own humble existence.

Explore the Australian outback

Explore the Australian outback

One of the most mysterious, untamed corners of the world is hidden in the Land of Down Under. You’ll see it posing proudly for yet another postcard, or beautifying many an eager traveler’s desktop wallpaper, but once you lay your eyes on the fiery, volatile beauty of the Australian outback, you’ll understand its unique appeal. It is filled to the brim with wildlife, and it’s home to an entire ecosystem that you cannot and should not disturb in any way.

You’ll also come across a range of national parks and reserves (around 500 of them, which gives you a better idea of its size), all worthy of a road trip, but make sure you have the supplies, the maps, and the stamina to endure such an adventure. This is certainly not for the faint of heart. This is for those who would like a true, off-the-beaten-path experience.

Slow down in Myanmar

Slow down in Myanmar

Asia has become a top destination for foodies, adventure-seekers, as well as urban explorers. However, unlike the most popular spots such as Singapore or Japan, you’ll find this somewhat forgotten nook of the continent is vastly untouched by the modern tempo of living. The country of Myanmar has preserved its cultural wealth, unspoiled by the hectic lifestyle of many of its neighboring countries. It’s a perfect destination for those who’d like to meditate on the purpose of their existence while they soak in the panoramic views from the many pagodas’ terraces.

The sheer sight of thee Buddhist temples is a breath of fresh air for your soul. Sometimes, the greatest adventure you can treat yourself to is to slow down, bask in the simplicity of local life, try fresh produce at a local farmers’ market, or hike at Inle Lake with one of the local guides.

Your sense of self will be profoundly different after each and every one of these visits. They give us the perspective and the deeper understanding of our purpose, and they are so much more than simple getaways. Enrich your life with such explorations and you’ll be able to give new depth to your existence through meaningful, soulful travel.
